Hmm…How many are thinking what is this assignment going to be? My laundry or something hidden deep within that you haven’t shared? Let me end the suspense and say BOTH! Keep in mind that these assignments are meant to stretch you and encourage you to creatively blog.
Part A - Share about your family’s laundry. Where is it kept? Who does it? How does your family sort it? Do you wash by hand? Hang clothes on the clothesline? Make your own laundry soap? How often do you do laundry? How many loads each day/week? Indoor laundry room, in the garage, or laundry mat? Even more fun…share a picture!
Part B - Do you have an area in your life that you know that the Lord is tugging at some heart strings that needs to be cleaned up? Have a testimony of your past struggle(s) that might help another homeschooling mom? Share a piece of your heart (dirty laundry) that you are seeking a good washing or how it got cleaned up. Sharing with one another is a great way to have your post feel human and real.
Part C - FIND a scripture this week that pertains to this assignment to help you with your laundry and share it this week.
Here is mine:
Part A - If you could only see my laundry now!!! We ran out of soap 3 days ago and I have been sick with a migraine since. So hubby is suppose to pick it up today. My bathroom is now just a heap of clothes. Usually though, I wash everyday. We hang what we can on the line outside, because I just love to hang clothes, it is my favorite chore (crazy I know). I have a list written up spliting up the wash into different days. (eg. Towels on Monday, Clothes on Tuesday, Sheets on Wedensday etc.). My girls are in charge of all the washing and drying , I just hang out things on the line. My washroom is also my pantry so it is a tight squeeze.
Part B - I have taken this from my monthly E-zine Bahama Blessings.
Island Reflections
My quiet reflections of God in and through His Word
Oh I have struggled with feeling tired and weary for such a long time. Satan knows if he keeps us in the state of utter weariness his job to defeat us is soooo easy.
So what do I do to stop the tiredness and weariness before it leads to defeat.
1. Prepare for battle. In other words, establish a strong relationship with my captain, God. When you have this relationship established it is so much easier to follow His command and trust Him.
2. Get dressed for Battle. Ephesians 6:14-17 is your guide.
-Wrap truth around you, which is found in Christ.
-protect yourself with Righteousness, which is only found in God.
-Take peace filled steps
-Hold up your faith to protect you from the flaming arrows of the devil.
-Guard and protect your mind with your knowledge of God's saving grace in your life.
3. Learn how to use your weapon, the sword of the Spirit. The word of God is your most powerful weapon. We much know how to use it though. We have to skillfully use God's word or it is like a dead weight in our hand that will throw us off balance. Lucia's study has given me such powerful ideas for this area.
4. With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, (Eph.6:18a). I need to daily come to the father and ask Him to prepare me and sustain me.
That is my spiritual guidelines for protections. These are the things that I know as a Christian I should do to help me not get tired and weary.
Now Satan hits me hard in a few areas.
1. My idea of myself or my self image.
2. My health. I have been very ill for a long time. Migraines have been a heavy weight around my neck. It was at the point where I was having 3 to 4 days of headaches a week. I was not functioning as a wife, mother or person.
3. I was always tired and I would never stop to rest. This made me even sicker.
Now for my practical and physical preparation tips for avoiding the specific ways Satan attaches me.
1. Exercise. I always feel better about myself when I do this.
2. Watch what I eat. This is huge in my life. When I eat wrong I get so sick.
3. Rest when I need to. I never use to do this. I felt to get it all done I couldn't take a break. I now take the 2 or 3 days off when my period starts. My hubby calls them my "Red Tent" Days. What a different Momma I am because of this. I have meals prepared, no stressful schooling (usually just snuggle reading time) I stay home if I can.
This is a few ways that I have found that help me. I hope this helps some of you.
Part C - Today I will share my promised verse for my family.
Genesis 33:14 Let my lord go ahead of his servant . I will continue on slowly, at a pace suited to the livestock and the children, until I come to my lord at Seir.
