This Saturday I'll be on a panel discussion with Deborah Cunefare, Lisa Rivero and Christine Field at the Homeschool Resource Center Open House in Johnsburg, IL. If you're wondering what a Homeschool Resource Center is, then you need to read all about it. A homeschool mom named Kathy Wentz started this one, and thanks to her hard work, we can go there and check out homeschool books, curriculum and resources just like we check out library books. This is a wonderful concept that I would love to see made available to all homeschoolers, because it gives us an opportunity to "try before we buy," and it also provides us with somewhere to go to find like-minded people. Kathy has written about the Homeschool Resource Center for library journals, in an effort to get librarians to see how much a center helps homeschoolers. And let's face it, homeschoolers keep libraries busy, don't we? In fact, many of us are known by name to our librarians.
