    • Dec. 21, 2007 - SIX

My own chapters are boring me out

    Chapter Six

Clark sat up the next morning, looking desperately for Barilt and Galdon. They were nowhere in sight. He stood from his bed in the corner of blankets and found a bowl of some sort of soup near the fireplace for him. However the fire wasn’t lit and it was cold.

Everyting was cold in fact-the house, the breeze seeping through it, and the stone of the hearth as Clark ate the soup upon it.

It actually didn’t taste very bad and Clark was famished so he devoured it. Then he stood and walked to the door, peering slowly out.

There was Barilt, coming back down the path towards his home. Clark breathed with relief as the man or whatever he was, came inside.

"Ah-Clark! You’re awake I see!" said Barilt, his cloak a jolly red. "I’ve brought you some decent clothes-outcasts but they’ll do."

He held out coarse breeches and a homespun shirt.

Clark changed in the small pantry and cast his t-shirt and jeans aside. These clothes were warmer and when he came out Barilt was sitting looking anxiously about. Finally, he dared to ask, "Clark, tell me what it is like in your earth-tell me please young human."

Clark told him about school and some about the people.

"And what of your army and your leadership?" Barilt asked.

"We have a president." Clark said. "That is in the US. And we have a military system where we train soldiers."

Barilt seemed intent. Clark answered all his questions as the man listened intently. Finally he asked Barilt,

"So tell me about this world."

"It used to be a jolly place." Barilt sighed, lighting a pipe and puffing on it, in the cold room. "There are two, how do you say it, Continents here, Islands in fact. Where we are now is Tribonia. The bigger of the two." He rose to pull a sheat of papers from the sea chest, and unrolled a map. Tribonia was around the size of Australia, with Gordon Plains labeled on it. The other little continent was half that size. "It is called Glassglen." he said. "Moredore lives there, ruling us all and enforcing it with his army."

Clark raised an eyebrow. "Is he a good ruler?"

Barilt shook his head. "We used to live happily here in Tribonia. We worshipped an Ancient God who provided for us here in Tribonia, and then the star fell."

    "What?" Clark asked.

"A shooting star shot across the sky and fell into the ocean. After that evil came. The star fell after a man commited evil, murdering another man. Moredore was evil. He came generations after the star, before I was born and killed off many to become lord of these lands. He enslaved us and took more and more land. Then he journeyed to Glassglen, the sacred island."

Clark listened intently as Barilt spoke.

"We used to worship our God there, but lord Moredore took it over and became a sorcerer, turning us away from that God. I don’t believe our old God listens any more." said Barily. "Anyway, Moredore wanted to control Tribonia so he began burning out towns, kidnapping people and sacrificing some to get more power." Barilt’s voice lowered. "He claims his powers are strengthening. He wants to take over Tribonia completely-and we can’t resist.

Clark frowned. How had he gotten into this strange world?

"But then there are the prophesies." Barilt said, opening the shudders of the house. "Tardill, Kaceton’s Grandfather was a prophet to the Ancient God. He prophesied all about Moredore’s takeover, and said that a human would come from the realm of earth, or rather a boy, and save us from our peril. You’re that human."

Clark was taken aback. "Me?" he asked. "Why me? Why am I here!"

"I don’t know." Barilt said. "But we’ll find out. Tardill said those words on his deathbed so Kaceton is the last prophet of her generation."

"I need to find her." Clark said. "I need her to transport me back into my world. I’m not ready! She’s already saved me from Moredore’s army once."

"Ahh, yes. Moredore’s army. There here to devestate our villages to find the stone." said Barilt,

    "What stone?" Clark asked.

"It’s claimed that there’s a special stone from which all power comes. It was a stone that came from the shooting star that fall back in ancient times. Moredore craves that sone. It’s said to be hidden near Gordon Plains." he continued.

Clark was no longer listening. He stood staring out the window at the morning light. "Let’s take a walk. I want to see more of your town." he said.

"Alright," Barily grinned, no longer sober. "Let us go young lad."

Clark was still questioning though. How did that lord Moredore guy know he was here? Did his powers really work?

Kaceton sat on Casabon, her horses, back looking across the mountains and hills and lands of the plains to the village of Briarwick. The plains-riders must have gotten Clark and brought him there. Did she dare venture into the town of the people who despised her.

"God," she said in a whisper. "Lead me."

She heard his voice and nodded grimly.

    • Dec. 14, 2007 - FIVE

    I bring you Chapter FIVE!

    Chapter Five

Kaceton stood on the moore, the wind flapping her long hair out behind her and her warm cloak swaying  in the harsh wind. Her face was tipped heavenward and her mouth slowly moved in time to the gusts of wind.

"Oh God of our Forfathers!" She screamed, her voice clear and pure in the air. "Visit us, help us, Lord." She paced the barren moore her face still facing heaven, praying to a God that she knew existed. "God help us in these lost days! Save us!"

She fell to her knees beginning the interceding. She usually preferred to do this at nightfall, but Lord Moredore's army had been around so she could not.

It was then that she felt a presence around her, sweeping her. She looked up into a Golden Light.

"I am with you, Kaceton. I will never forsake you." came the hollow voice. "Trust in me and I will ake allthinks work together for good. As we speak I have sent someone already."

Kaceton breathed deeply. She was the last person who still did this, praising her God-the Ancient God. Now she prayed till mid-day, and rose. They boy, yes, they boy whom she'd rescued from Mordore's men=He was the one who God had sent. She just knew it. Now he was in Briarwick with the plains-riders. She had to speak with him again. That boy was here for a purpose.

Clark was at once at home in the small house along the outskirts of Briarwick.

Galdon was a big women with a fire going in the hearth and she gave a hearty welome to her brother Barilt and Clark. "Good to be seein' you again Barilt." She gave him a hearty thump on the shoulder. Then she turned to Clark. "And who do we have here?" she laughed merrily.

Both were seated near the fire and Clark warmed his hands. Then he turned to Barilt once they were settled. "That girl back at the moore," He started. "Kaceton,..Does she live here?"

"No of course not." Barilt smiled stroaking the bit of a beard on his chin. "Most say she's a witch. She lives on the black moore and some say you can see her, roaming about screaming to some unknown God. Whenever a cow goes dry or someone dies it is always blamed on Kaceton of the Moore. Everyone fears her but she's only a lassie."

Clark was taken aback. She hadn't seemed like much of a witch-of course he didn't know anything about there sort anyhow. "How do you know? Who are her parents?" he asked.

"She's lived on Black Moore since she was only a small baby. She lives off the land and her potions out of herbs and plants, though there's nothing Witchly about them. Her parents were hung for treason to Lord Moredore when she was so young and she's lived there since, disapearing and reappearing, almost like a Phantom." Barilt answered.

Then Galdon bustled back with a meal fit for a king. Both of them ate and ate till they were so full that Clark felt like throwing his insides up.

Then Barilt leaned closer. "So tell me, young lad, be you a human...or just one of us?"

"Of course I'm a human!" Said Clark. "Aren't you?"

Galdon and Barily exchanged looks. "No," said Barilt, holding a finger to his lips. "And you aren't to tell anybody but us of course that you are a human. lord Moredores men could be anywhere around here. But you are a very special boy aren't you?"

Clark shook his head no. "I'm a dork." he said.

Barilt looked quizzical. "A dork? Is that another kind of human?..."

Clark shook his head again. "Forget I mentioned it." Then he frowned. "I guess I'm just trying to get home again."

Galdon and Barilt exchanged another look. "I believe he's the boy from the prophesy." Barilt whispered to her. "If that's so then the Lord's men will be here quite soon."

Clark didn't listen to them. He stared into the fire. Waves of homesickness suddenly crossed him. He almost wished Buzz was with him for he felt almost lonely with these strange people. They were nice but so different.

By then it was late in the morning and he spent the rest of the day, curled up there while Galdon and Barilt bustled around and left around noon to see a friend of theres. Then he went to sleep.

"All come out and show themselves!" came a man's loud voice outside in the night. A cane knocked on each door as the cry came out.

Clark stirred and sat up, finding that Barilt had carried him to a pallet of blankets in the corner. Barilt and Galdon were asleep in two large beds pressed against the wall, or rather awake now.

"It's lord Moredore's men." Barilt stood, pulling on his cloak and breeches. "Hide the boy." he hissed to Galdon, motioning to Clark. She bustled over to a sea chest in the corner, and turned to Clark,

"C'mon Laddie." she said to a Bewildered Clark. "Climb in...Hurry."

Clark had always hated being small, but now it seemed to be a good thing. He fit into the chest with room to spare, and Galdon left it slightly cracked so that Clark could breathe and see out,

Mordore's men came closer, searching every house. Finally, they came to Barilt's house and he opened the door after a few loud knocks.

"We have a permitt by lord Moredore to search this house." crowed the person of some sort who stood about 7 feet tall with a scarlet cloak.

Barilt stepped out of the way and about 5 men stepped in, storming through the room. They stopped before the pallet in the corner.

"And who does that belong to?" asked the big man-apparently the leader.

"A dog," said Galdon hurriedly. "A runaway dog. Poor little thing spent it's nights in there and died yesterday Morn'." she pretended to look sad though she was really telling a white lie, or so Clark hoped. He quickly smelled himself, and sighed with relief that he did not reak of Dead dog.

"Alright," The big man bellowed, stepping towards the door. "The boy isn't hear. Move on."

With that they walked out the door and moved on to the next house. Barilt shut the door and bolted it, sighing with relief.

Clark gulped. They were searching for him! He was really here for a reason.

Galdon opened the sea chest and he climbed out.

"You're one lucky boy." Barilt said. "We'd best stay awake till Moredore's men leave."

With that he pulled some sort of flute from the ledge over the hearth and began to play a melancholy tune while Galdon relit the fire. Clark just sat there, feeling a strange sense of despair.

    • Dec. 14, 2007 - Taken for Granted

    Hey bloggers,

There's a lot of things that we take for granted in life.

As ya'll know and I have reminded you of several times, my Daddy is on a mission trip to Guatemala. Today while he was there, he met with a man named Carlos who says that he has a list of people that he wants to help, and that he spends all of his money on. He took my Dad to the house of a women with several young children. The husband had left them, alone and deserted, with a shack to live in and no money. Carlos spent all his money and time building the poor family a house, since everyone had seemed to forget them. Before this, the young children even had to hike down a mountain just to bring water up to there shack. Now they were so pleased to have a house the size of our bathroom. The women makes necklaces from nuts for a living but cannot afford a drill to make holes in the nuts, so by pushing needles through them her hands are all cut and bedraggled.

Plus, another heartbreaking thing is that through there hardship, this women wants to help the poor with a small room in her tiny house. If only she had enough food, she says, so that she could help other poor. Ain't that sad?

Those are some of the things that we take for granted. We take for granted water, a roof over our head, decent clothes and something much more. God, who will take care of us.

That's what Christmas is all about. Not presents, not reindeer with red light up nose, and no fat dudes dressed in red-no it's about helping people. With God's blessing, hopefully Daddy will be able to help this poor women and the other's on Carlos List. As he said, it should just make us happy to help one person-even if it means giving up something we want.

Taken for Granted. Think about it.

    • Dec. 1, 2007 - Christmas

I LUV CHRISTMAS! Here's a Song I wrote to celebrate.

Rudolph the runny nose reindeer had a very runny nose, and if u ever saw it, u would say he needs to blow. All of the other reindeers, used to laugh and call him names, they wouldn't let poor rudolph, join in any Monopoly Games!
Then one Smoggy Christmas eve, Santa came tosay, "Rudolph with ur nose so bright, won't u be my meal tonight" Then all the reindeer loved him, and they shouted out with glee, "Rudolph the Runny Reindeer, is much better then any Turkey!"

    ENJOY
