Sep. 25, 2006 - Bored
My sister and Mom are watching a movie that I can't see, so I am locked up in the computer room with nothing else to do, so you will be reading a very looooonnnnnnnnggggggg post, just to let you know. Well, I guess I could write about a tragedy that just recently happened. Did you read the post I wrote about the Grasshopper eating spider that we fed? Well if you didn't hears the quick intro---
a few days ago I found a spider, I named it Spider Solitaire, and I fed it Grasshoppers that I caught. Well I did this for a few days and just a few days ago I was going to check on her, when I found her web with no spider! I feared she must of died! But, I found another spider that was her species except much smaller than her, so I now am feeding Silk Foot (that's his name). Little note to KittyKorner, don't worry KittyKorner, I will make sure that I kill as many Grashoppers for Silk Foot as I did for Spider Solitaire.

Sep. 25, 2006 - Sick!
I am sooooooooooooooooo sick! My throat is dry, I am coughing all the time, sneezing all the time, aching all over and feeling very dizzy! I hope I get over it soon, because tomorrow I have clogging practice. And this is no regular clogging practice, it's are last practice before our BIG performance! I am so nervous, especially since I get to do Cotton eye Joe in a star with the advanced class! And I'm only in the beginners class! I can't wait. My mom is going to be in Boston that week, so if I mess-up she won't see it. Gotta get off because my sister is glaring at me, even though it's not her turn yet!

Sep. 24, 2006 - What I totally LOVE!
The things I totally love are these-----
To draw! Sometimes my Mom even has to forbid me from drawing for a whole day because I'm doing it instead of doing my chores!
Clogging! It is sooooooooooooooo fun! I love to dance! I think that there is just something in me that calls me to the stage! I just love to perform! My heart longs to show off! I am sooooooooo competative, so I am always trying to out do other people! I don't care how good they are, I just want to be better. I also love clogging because I get to hang with my best friends, KittyKorner and MC.
Friends! I so don't know what I would do without KittyKorner (my sensible friend) And then theres my CRAZY friend CayCay! She's all about fun! Of course my friend MC who I can always talk to about "certain" problems. And when we all get together we have a BLAST!!!!!
Butterflies! They are soooooooooooo enchanting! I like to draw fairies but my Mom doesn't want me to talk about them infront of my little sisters and brothers. In fact she doesn't want me to talk about them at all, so I have to call them Butterflie people. It's my own species! Whenever I find dead Moths or Butterflies, I draw their wings and put them on people. They look very mistical!
Animals! They are SO CUTE!!! I just love to have something that I feel I'm responsible for and I have to take care of and their life is in my hands. My favorite animals are probably birds, hamsters, cats, and butterflies. I use the animals for models with my drawing.
Mushrooms! I love mushrooms! I think that they are totally cool, though most people don't agree with me. I like to fill my sketchbooks with fungis and mushrooms. A person that studies mushrooms is called a mycologist, I wish that somebody would call me Miss mycologist, I think it would be very fun to have a nickname like that, but all the nicknames I have I hate! Like 'shorty' and 'cheerleader prep' thats the worst because the worst word that anybody could ever call me is 'preppy'! I hate that word!

Sep. 23, 2006 - First day of Fall!
Today I am sooooooooooooooooooo happy because today is the first day of Fall! I love Fall! The pumpkins, the leaf piles, the Fall Festival and best of all, the cool crisp air that goes perfectly with the beautiful trees. I probably will be sketching a lot this Fall, it is going to be just beautiful, I can feel it. Today we are having a Dinner Party to celibrate Fall, and to also give my parents time to talk to some close friends of theirs. Which probably means that us kids will be sent to bed hours before our bedtime! I'm dreading it. Beside the Dinner Party tonight that my parents are hosting, we did something else today, we picked up a old play house from some people we know. And while we where out I saw a very dear friend that I haven't seen for 4 months. I wanted to say hello to him, but by the time I saw him, we where leaving. When we got home we right away had to get ready for Mr. Michael, Mrs. Deidra, Bonnie Kate, Austen and Hunter coming over. Mama said that I could do the biscuits because I loved to do them, I thought that was a good idea, but I was sooooooooooo wrong! Okay, Mom said that we had to double the recipe because we where cooking for 13 people. So I doubled the flour, but instead of just doubling the butter, I quadrupled the butter! Instead of just putting 1/2 I put 1 cup and a 1/2! And how my Mom realized that I did it is she was watching me mix the butter with the flour and she noticed that there was a LOT of butter, she asked me how much butter I had put in the flour, when I showed her on the measuring cup where I had filled the butter up to, Mom told me that instead of doubling the recipe, I had quadroupled the recipe! I freaked out! So then, I had to quadrouple the rest of the recipe too. So I changed 4 cups of flour to 8 cups! I made about 20! Everyone said that they tasted good. I was really glad that they didn't burn, or turn out chewy.

Sep. 22, 2006 - The Planetarium
Today I went to a Planetarium with my Home School Group. I went with KittyKorner, KittyKorner's Mom and my 12 year old sister. The Planetarium was very interesting. There was a set-up that showed how light prisms work, KittyKorner and I figured it out! There was also a computer that had a game on it, the object of the game was to launch your rocket ship, we blew ours up. There was a theater there that wa s showing a movie about the ocean! It had sharks in it, I don't really like sharks, at all, okay, in fact I am terrified of sharks! I have a HUGE imagination and sometimes when it starts imagining about sharks, lets just say I don't get into the water for a whole month! I have sharkaphobia, it is something horrid to have. I'm trying to get over it but everytime I think I'm over it, I freak myself out even more! I'm a disgrace! It's all that silly 'Making of the movie "Jaws"'! I just watched a few minutes of it and SCREAMED! I went into another room and watched Star Wars instead. Beside the sharks, I guess the movie wasn't that bad, infact I enjoyed it. Though, my eyes did hurt after watching a 45 minute movie on a 100 foot wide screen!

Sep. 21, 2006 - BIG cook-off
Today my little brother and sister and I had a pretend food cook-off! I made a REAL fruit salad, with grapes and persimmons on fresh green leaves in a bamboo box with chopsticks. (I wanted to go for the Asian style). Then I had a small Mourning Dove egg that I had found a month ago on the side of the road, under a 100 foot tree with no nest in sight. My Dad said that I could keep it. So, I tried to hatch it, but, well, it had already been cold for too long so it was dead. Okay, back to the cook-off because if I kept on talking about birds and eggs I would never stop! So I had a boiled Mourning Dove egg on a few blades of fresh grass to make it look nice, don't worry, we didn't eat the egg. And last but not least, a Mudpie for dessert! Well, actually a Mudpie blob, but it doesn't sound as good. We had three rounds, round one salads and soups. I won that round! A round for desserts, I lost that one. And a round for side trays. My little 4 year old sister made a stew for that one, it had muddish water with grass and flowers sticking out, it was kinda cute to see her try and explain what it was. I thought it was pretty good for a first try. Here's her recipe for Mud Flower Soup:
Serves 2
Ingredients:
Mud water (which is almost all water except for a little bit of dirt, which should be stirred in very well)
2 Crab Apples (you can add more if you want)
Cut up Leaves from a Crab Apple tree
7 blades of Grass
Then you pour the mud water into a bowl. Stir it one more time because the dirt probably has separated from the water by this time, and you don't want that. You want everything to be well stirred in. Then you pour the 2 Crab Apples, cut up leaves from the Crab Apple tree and the 7 blades of grass (which you can cut up if you want, or just keep them like they are) Then stir for 1 minute, or until everything is well mixed. Bon appetite!
My little 9 year old brother made a soup. Here's his recipe-
Serves 2
ingredients
Room temperature water, about 1 cup
10 pecans with their shells still on
15 crab apples (or you can add more if you wish)
Lots of Buttercup petals, tip: make sure you don't bruise them, they don't taste as good if you do. If you want this soup to taste REALLY good you should pick the petals that morning.
TONS of Morning Glory seeds
Then you put the pecans, crab apple and the Morning Glory seeds in a big bowl with the room temperature water. Stir the soup well, and then put the Buttercup petals in. Put them in after so they don't bruise. And there you have it, Pecan and Buttercup soup, very delicious. Yummo!
And that is the recipe. I'll post some more recipes that I have invented on another day.
Well I have to get off because it's my sister's turn.
Bye

Sep. 18, 2006 - Clogging
I promised that I would talk about clogging, so, I better start, because theres a lot to tell. Clogging is like the country version of tap dancing. We unfortunetly have to dance to country songs, I HATE country! It's so nasty! Well, to show you how country clogging is I'll tell you the songs we do----
we do 'Elvira' which kinda grew on me, I guess it's not too bad. Then there a Elvis song that we do called 'So High' Elvis is okay, but I'm not really a fan. Though, my clogging teacher and her miom are fans so we have to do a Elvis song. We do a eighty song called 'Miracles will Happen' that song was way to fast. We had a performance 6 weeks after I began, and we had to do Elvira with the 'Tiny Tots'. They were okay, but, all of them were doing the dance at a different speed -zone. Us older kids almost did it perfectly! Though, we did mess up once or twice. Then we had to do Miracles will Happen, we forgot when to start, did 6 basics instead of 4. We started off at different speed, some of us were way to slow, and the others, way to fast. Then our clogging teacher started doing it with us and then you could see even more mistakes that we were making! I was sooooooooooo bad! We were scared out of our wits! So we had these grim sterns on our faces, and we weren't even looking at the audeince. It was horrifying! Gotta go, my Moms calling,

Sep. 16, 2006 - About me!
My name is Betsie. I live in the USA. I have six brothers and sisters. I have a Mom and Dad, they are very smart so I'm kinda' expected to be like a grade above what I'm supposed to be.
I did Ballet for 2 years and loved it! I thought that it made me look very graceful, and I will always promote something that makes me look beautiful. I got bored of it and quit. I didn't do anything for a long time, until I did Cheerleading. I had always wanted to be a Cheerleader! But, my Mom and Dad didn't want me to do it because-------well I'm not entirely sure, but it seemed like it wasn't that big a deal to me. I met a 'Orlando Bloom Freak' there and we became good friends. Later on I saw her at GA Camp. It was my first time and I went with KittyKorner. I loved it! Will write about GA Camp later. I do clogging. I love to it! And I do clogging with KittyKorner. KittyKoner is my BFF. And we do a ton of stuff together. See, I'm the kind of person that needs a friend that can be as wild as me at times, but, can also be sensible. When I say 'sensible' I mean sensible in the sense of not letting me go on sugar highs forever, and making sure I don't do anything that would positively mean me being grounded for life!
Will post tomorrow.
