Why?!?!?!?!?!?!
|
Why do girls get so hung up on guys? Why do they try and flirt with almost everyone of the opposite gender? Why do they think its fun to date, get their hearts broken, and then do it all oover again?
I ask these questions because last night I was hanging out with my friends before our volleyball game, and all of these well grounded girls went ga ga over a group of soccer players that came in to watch the game. I just don't understand why its fun to analize boys and decide if he's worthy of going out with.
My point is that God didn't design us to give our hearts away to every attractive male that walks by. I feel that God is leading me to stand strong on this issue and say that dating is unhealthy. I plan on saving my heart for the man I'm going to marry, and I believe God will tell me who that guy is when I am an adult, NOT a teenager.
That's all I've got to say. If you share my veiws please comment. Right now I feel like I'm standing alone. God bless!

Yeah I understand completly where you're coming from. A lot of my really close friends are like that too. Like I have no problem w/ girls having interest in a specific guy, but once they get to the whole "do you think he's cute?? *giggle giggle*" "yeah, you should totally ask him out" or when people start playing matchmaking, it gets so annoying. Nice blog btw.
Come check out my blog sometime. It's just getting started, and I'm trying to get some reader response. Hope you like it!

You definately do not stand alone. My sister and I totally agree with you. Our experience is more with our choir. Almost all the girls were participating in almost totally uncontrolled flirtation. I know that this is not quite the same thing, but they also had their little "groups", and there was room only for the kind of people they wanted to hang out with.
Okay, sorry, that is something I have kind of had a problem with. I'll stop ranting now.

Rebecca, I wish I had your attitude when I was in high school. I had a crush on just about every good looking guy I knew in high school, though ironically I didn't date till in college. For me it was a self-esteem thing, but for many girls it's just the pressure, as if that's the thing to do--drool over guys and try to make them love you. Totally anti-biblical. Keep your standards and continue to seek holiness in everything you do. The Lord will reward you with His choice for you.

What if I don't agree? I dont understand what's wrong with talking to guys or saying he's cute, or going out with him if you're careful.

I agree. I know this one girl who acts like that, and it makes the guys around her look so uncomfortable, and her brothers look quite embarrassed. But once you get to know her, she's very sweet. I think it's just how she IS.
I'm not going to "Date". I'm going to court. But not for 5-6 years. (I'm 13)
