The end--and the beginning

I accidentally erased my template, so whoever I had the button to, can you give it to me again? :( I had to completely rewrite my template, and it's still looking "off", so I have to fix that... thanks!
Well, this is the end of Penda Magazine I was trying to start.
I just don't think I'm ready to start such a big thing yet, no matter how many readers we have.
Here are the reasons:
- I'm really bad at following up with people.
- I don't have any time for the stuff that I love to do, like write in my journal anymore.
- Next year, I'm going to start taking a bunch of courses online, including maths and Sciences, so I'm going to be uber-busy already, magazine or not
- I relied too much on other people who weren't as excited as I was, and wasn't taking into consideration other people's personal lives.
I might start it up again when I"m older and more responsible, though. :) But for now...
there is a beginning! :D
I'm going to be starting a blog called ibeauty, about the lies fed to girls and true beauty, inside and out.
It's going to be mostly by me, but if anyone feels like they want to submit any beauty tips, or something like that, that would be greatly accepted!
Btw, you should know, I'm the kind of girl who loves pedicures, manicures, hair, makeup, etc in moderation. A little pampering never hurt anyone, but obsessing over it is unhealthy. I prefer to do my hair and at least put on some foundation and mascara when I go out of doors, but I can go outside without any makeup on and my hair back in a messy bun and not be ashamed. So don't think I'm your typical Type "A" girl or anyting, I just love beauty. ^_^
So yeah.
This an end and a beginning. I'm thinking ibeauty will work pretty well since it's going to be mostly me doing it, but other girls can submit stuff if they want. ^_^
Posts will be about once a week hopefully.
So yeah!
Thanks for all the help with my penda magazine, though, even though it didn't work. :) It's mainly my fault it didn't. I didn't tell enough people about it, and expected 4 girls to do the work that I was thinking 10 would, without writing anything myself. I feel ashamed about it now, so please forgive me if you felt pressured or that I was angry or anything. because I wasn't.
You girls were such a blessing! :) Thanks so much for your encouragement!

Hey everyone.
So I have a good story, and a bad story. :) I'll start with good.
So we did track and field today with all the homeschoolers and the surrounding Christian schools and the like, and it was a ton of fun! I got third at SHOTPUT of all things! I stink at throwing. and I was sure I wasn't going to place, so I just did it to help everyone else bump up a spot, but I ended up placing. I was very very happy. ^_^
So I did a bunch of other stuff too... at the 100 m dash I got to finals and tied for 4th. :( Oh well. :) I was still in finals! :D
lol
then it started pouring.
POURING. with thunder and lightning.
We had to run to the cars to wait for it to pass, and when it did we all went back. My friend Gabriel and I sat on the bleechers listening to music and talking, and then it started pouring AGAIN. so Daniel, Gabe, Jessica, Holly and I were under one trying to keep dry.
It didn't work.
We eventually ran to the tents that were on the other side of the field. >.< we got soaked. Then Gabe was complaining of being cold, so Daniel and I squished him so he stayed warm... it was fun. xD
But since it was raining so much, and it didn't stop without starting up again in less than 2 minutes, we didn't get to do the relay. and it's my last year! so I'll never do it again. :( I was in it this year, too. :'( I am really sad.
I'm going to miss my friends, since I might not see them until September. Especially Gabe. :) We're good friends.
However, there might be weekly ball games that we'll do for fun, so i'll be able to see them still. :) I'm really happy
Now the bad news.
I'm thinking that the magazine won't work at all, unless I have 10 more submissions in 2 weeks. I still need all the fiction, entertainment, and non-fiction. I only have devotions. So I don't think this will work. Unless I get everything I need in 2 weeks.
So that's now your deadline. ok?
Now, if it doesn't work, I have another idea that I might just do anyway.
I"m thinking of starting a blog called "iBeauty" about beauty from the inside out. I'm really liking the idea! I've been jotting down ideas in my journal for about 3-4 weeks now for it. People would be able to submit stuff that they think if they wanted, and it would be on Blogspot obviously, but also on here.
I'm thinking of starting a new blog, since I only have like 30 friends out of my over 100 who actually blog. If I did, though, I would take everyone off my friends list and add them on my new one, so you wouldnt' have a clogged up friends list. I'm still not sure, though, so i"m not making any promises.
So yeah.
I'll try to post more often from now on... but I seem to never want to. I don't know why... unless I have something exciting to say like today. :)
I had a great time today.

Hey everyone!
So here is what is happening with the magazine:
It will be on Blogspot
Its name is Penda Magazine
Our mission is to boost girls self confidence while providing them with a good, Christian site. Also, to give a way for creative girls to show the world what they're capable of doing.
I still need writers. A lot of you have said you will do stuff, but I need it in before July. So please, send me in stuff! It doesn't have to be perfect. I can correct grammatical errors, so just write your heart out. :)

So it's my nana's birthday today!! :D I'm thinking of writing her something and making her a necklace or something. I don't know...
O.o
I love my nana. :) I want it to be extra special.

Hey everyone!
I just wanted to say, I got my first article for the magazine today!
It's from ChristineDaae,
so just wanted to say THANKS SO MUCH!
Tell me what of the following you want to do:
devotionals
humor
fiction
reviews (including new books, and movies that are coming out)
A couple of my guy friends have volunteered to answer girls' questions, so I was wondering if anyone was interested in submitting questions to them, or if we should wait for a couple more months before I tell them if they can or not.
So I'm thinking of calling it Penda Magazine, since it means Love in Swahili, and hey! Life's all about God's love, isn't it? :) also, it's a cool sounding word.
Please keep the stuff coming in!
And tell me what you're comfortable doing, or what you're not comfortable doing. If you're just not comfortable doing fiction for instance, I might stick you on humor of reviews instead. Get it? :)

Hey everyone!
I want to update about the whole magazine thing. =) I really really really want this to work. More than you can imagine!
Let me just say again what I have in mind:
Brio magazine, the magazine I used to read, has now discontinued, and so has their website. So it got me wondering, "HEY! why can't a bunch of girls just get together and make a magazine of our own?"
I understand it won't be quite that simple. I figured out that if we have the following articles:
1entertainment/review article
2 fiction
1 non-fiction
2 humour
3 Devotion
Then the total number of writers needed, assuming everyone does one, is 9.
I've got 3 people who are for sure interested in helping out. :) Thanks so much guys!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me with my cause!
This would be a great fun for everyone involved, and I want it to be a good magazine for girls to read.
If this is going to work, we also need a name for it.
I looked up some words on google (ahhh. Lovely google. :p ) and found the translations to some English words.
Here are my ideas so far from what I've found:
Penda (Love, in Swahili)
Maisha (Life, also in Swahili)
Vida (life, in Spanish)
I think they sound cool..
so please. tell me 2 things:
1: if you're interested, and if so, what area you would like to help me fill
and
2: What you think the name should be.
I really want this to work.. so thanks so much!
Also, I've started to work on a template for the future magazine, and so you can see it here.
Please tell me what you think of it!
