"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."  Isaiah 40:31

  • If you wait on God, you will never be sorry - BUT if you take things into your own hands and just follow your heart, you will end up with many regrets because you will have lived for self.
  • We need to accept God's will and be happy with it, whatever it may be - even if it is not we wanted!
  • Remember ~ this is GOD'S battle, NOT yours. If you make it yours and take things into your own hands, you will make a mess. LET GOD FIGHT YOUR BATTLE FOR YOU!!!
  • Sometimes God will answer the problem, move on a situation, or deliver you from a trial in a way that you would have never expected or even thought of - BUT it will be THE BEST Way!
  • As we wait on God, we need to PRAISE Him!
  • A good example is the time when the children of Moab, Ammon and others came against the Israelites to battle. Jehoshaphat, who was the King and a God-fearing man, prayed to God, ". . . O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee." The Israelites prayed and fasted for God to help them in their situation. God told them to "stand still and see the salvation of the Lord". He told them to WAIT on Him. And then they were to SING! That's all they were to do as they went out to face "this great company" - sing unto the Lord, praise the Lord. But guess what? God fought the battle for them! They had to do NOTHING! Only wait, trust and stand still. That, and PRAISE God! Who would have thought that the way to defeat an army would be but to sing praises to God?
  • (2 Chronicles 20 - you can read this story in the Bible.)
"My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the Rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us." ~ PS. 62:5-8\

This is a Bible Story Time lesson brought a couple weeks ago... I thought it was encouraging.... :D
