Today

Posted in Family Life
Today we had three games at three different parks again - what a morning!  They all did great!  And, at J2's game we ran into TONS of people we know - gosh, it's great to live in a town like this.  Our years in Portland were so exciting but lonely without family.  And, just when we started to fit in The Dalles, we moved...and then Reedsport was...well, so lonely again.  There's nothing worse than being the odd man out in a small town.  :(

When we got home two really neat things happened....
1)  J3 and I got a phone call inviting us to a picnic at the park with a preschool buddy of his and his mom!
and
2)  DH found a turtle in the neighbor's yard! Sadly we can not keep him/her, but we hope to find him/her a good home!

I also finally did some more knitting!! It's been weeks since I really picked it up and it felt great!  I did a bit at the games and then watched "The Importance of Being Earnest" and knit.  By the way, that was a very enjoyable movie - I hope to watch it again before we send it back to Netflix.  It reminded me of another that I have not watched in awhile "The Ideal Husband" -- maybe I'll watch that one tomorrow!

If you think about it - please pray for J1 - he's got a fever again.   I think it's time to go to the doctor and see if there is something wrong! :(

May. 20, 2006 - Don't you just love the modern old movies?

Rupert Everett, is that his name? Gorgeous but gay, perfect gentleman type for those period movies. I think he's in the Importance of being earnest and The Ideal Husband...

Yep - he's in both. Looked them up on IMDB.com and both of the movies are made by the same man! So no wonder one of them reminded me of the other.

About Me

Day by Day....we strive to learn together, love each other and have some fun. Day By Day.... we strive to raise our boys to be knights and warriors for the Lord. Some days it's a struggle...

Cast of Charaters

Me - I like to read and knit. I've been a Christian for many years and loving learning about God and seeing the Lord work in our lives! I also post on my other blog, "Journaling Back To Joy"
DH - Is a theologically trained teacher of 4th graders at a Christian school. He loves astronomy, LOTR and playing with the kids! He is the funniest man I know.
J1 - 12 - our oldest. He came to live with us when he was 16 mos old and completely turned our lives inside out! While he is struggling with self-control right now - he is the one who can brighten the room just by smiling! He loves creating things from our recycling and anything that allows him to move (trampoline, skateboards, inline skates, etc)
J2 - 11 - our middle son. He is the one who I am currently homeschooling. He loves to create things from Legos and he loves movies. He would watch movies all day if I let him :( He has just had a major breakthrough in reading - for which we are praising the Lord!
J3 - 6 - my joy. He has a very tender heart for me and really works hard to make me happy. He loves to cuddle and is just learning about Legos. He wants to be with his big brothers so much, but the age difference is a big hurdle right now.
Joshie - 5/29/02 - 2/22/03 - Our surprise! Our only pregnancy that the Lord allowed - and we were blessed to have him for those short mos. We are all still grieving his loss - you'll hear alot about that from time to time. We look forward to getting to know him someday.
