Aug. 31, 2007 - Friday Show and Tell!

It has been a while since I participated in Kelli's Friday Show and Tell but I would like to get back in the groove!

When I was expecting our first child Lillie, my Mama bought a beautiful moses basket. I fell in love with it instantly. We never got around to getting a liner for it when Lillie was a baby. We put fleece in the bottom and a soft blanket. We used the basket a lot with Lillie, it was always a nice cozy spot for her to nap. We took it to church and she could sleep in it and I would change her diaper in it.

When I found out we had another baby on the way, I starting thinking about the moses basket again. I talked to Jay's Mama about making a liner for it. Very soon after we found out that this baby was a girl as well, we made a trip to the fabric store. Grandma, did a beautiful job of making the liner and soft mattress for the bottom. She also bought coordinating cream fleece and crocheted a beautiful pink shell border on it. She made the liner without even a pattern to go by. It is so pretty and I can't wait  to see baby Becca laying in her beautiful basket. I hope it can be used for years to come!

The lining fabric is so sweet and pretty! My daughter had a Moses basket last year when her baby boy was born. At first I wondered why she wanted it or needed it since she had a cradle, and a crib. I was surprised at how often we were able to use it!
