Beth's Bountiful Blessings

Sep. 14, 2007 - Friday Show and Tell!

Well it's Friday and time for Show and Tell over at Kelli's! Today I want to share my latest sewing project. A couple of weeks ago I went to a cute little store in our downtown area. They had these adorable burp clothes. They were simple white cloth diapers that they had sewn ribbon and various trim on. I thought they were precious, when I looked a the prices they were selling from 5-8 dollars a piece. I immediately thought I can make some of those and for a good bit cheaper!

So I bought a dozen cloth diapers and washed them several times. This makes them softer and more absorbent. Then I bought some ribbon and was given some pretty white trim. I ended up having enough to finish all 12 diapers. Now baby Becca has 12 beautiful burp clothes waiting on her! I love the way they turned out. Taking something so practical and dressing it up! I think they would make great baby shower gifts!

Edited to add: I ended up with about $16.00 in the whole dozen, quite a bit of savings!

Thanks so much for letting me share!

Be sure and stop by Kelli's for more show and tell Items!

They look wonderful indeed, very well done!

By the way, baby showers are totally unknown over here in Germany but I like that US tradition a lot!
