By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge
the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. ~Proverbs 24:3-4
• May. 9, 2009 - Strawberries and God
We went strawberry picking Friday morning before it got hot. I thought the baskets looked small so we got 4. Turns out they held about 5 lbs each! We made strawberry shortcakes for our home group last night and 2 batches of jam today (one regular and one sugar-free). We still have about 5 lbs left over.
Two kids + mom + twenty minutes = twenty lbs of strawberries!
When you look at the things God has created, you can tell he has a sense of humor. Just look at these 2 strawberries. Like the strawberries, we are all different and some of us just don't fit the expectation of what is normal. But we all taste yummy to God!!!
When we got too many strawberries, we washed them, cut off the tops, and laid them on cookie sheets in the freezer. When they froze, we put them in a bag.
OK, i suddenly have this unexplainable craving for strawberries...
RYC as to whether my soon-to-be high school grad is going off to college... I wish. She is a 3.9 student who loves English & writing and used to love learning, but she does NOT want to go to college in the fall and perhaps not ever. Despite the strong possibility of good scholarships, she refused to apply anywhere. Doesn't know what she *does* want to do. She'd had tentative plans to go work with some missionaries we know in Madagascar for a year, but the civil war over there put the kibosh on those plans and nothing else has tripped her trigger. We'll see. We're hoping she decides to take some community college classes in the fall and then apply to other places for the following year.
My oldest, on the other hand, just graduated from college. That was quite a momentous occasion for us! I actually posted about it tonight.

Then the teen boys ate them all.
