By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. ~Proverbs 24:3-4

• Apr. 6, 2007 - Box Day and other exciting?? moments

We had box days this week!!!  On Monday we received our box from WinterPromise.  It held the LA5 for Mark, Adv-K LA for Mei and American Story 1 (AS1) with the Native American Focus.

On Tuesday we received two more boxes!!  One was a back ordered book from AS1 - sent directly from Amazon.   We also received the books I ordered from Library and Educational Services.  I just can't say enough good things about them!  They said it would take 4 to 8 weeks, but I got my things in 1 week!!

And there are more coming... I also ordered Children Around the World from WinterPromise.  The majority of it will ship in May, but some of it is shipping on April 17.  Wooo Hooo!  I also have to order math for both kids and Rosetta Stone Spanish for Mark.

We cut our grass for the second time this week.  Spring has arrived -- although it is has been freezing at night recently.  Now I don't feel bad about not having my morning glory and moon flower seeds in the ground!  For Christmas, my mom got me these little mushrooms.  My oldest says they have to move to the backyard so I don't embarrass him.  For now, they are living out front among the daffodils.

My dh finally read my blog and commented that I don't talk about him or my oldest son much. So...
dh and I are both eye-ing the Annals of the World I ordered from L&ES - one or both of us will be reading it over Spring Break.  He also wanted to look through the American history books before I put them up.  He loves books, so a literature based program makes lots of sense to him

ds, dad, and me are all waiting with baited breath, as they say.  We are to hear if Paul is accepted to NCSSM next week.

Mei has already mastered the first reader from her LA for this Fall.  She is so happy.  She is also loving math again and completing multiple worksheets a day.

Mark was recently invited to be a pen pal with another h.s. boy his age.  When I asked if he was interested, he asked: Does he have trouble writing too?  When I said yes, he jumped up and down!  Then he asked: Does he have trouble typing?  I said I didn't know.  More jumping up and down.  Then I told him he could have his own email account.  Even more jumping up and down.  I have never seen my son so excited about writing!    I can't wait to see the changes that home schooling him will make!

Mark and box day!

My new bed.  It also has crape myrtles and golden barberries.  And these big smiling mushrooms.
