Beverly has a masters degree and is currently working toward pursuing her doctorate. She has extensive experience at training and workshops in the health care field including workshops for the United States Air Force. She is a veteran counselor that has worked with families, couples, groups, and individuals. Beverly has taught, trained, and supervised college students in the field.

After having children, Beverly stopped her professional career in order to be at home to educate her children. She has assisted homeschoolers with curriculum development and in helping parents educate their scholars. Her study aids have been used by private curriculum providers and is well known to many internet users. Beverly considers her most important accomplishment is the homeschooling of her two daughters. One daughter has already graduated homeschooling and is now attending college at home while her 15 year old daughter is forging ahead with her homeschool studies.

Beverly and her husband, Douglas, started PrestonSpeed Publications. Their publishing operation is best known for providing quality works of history, historical fiction, and adventure. Authors such as Charlotte Yonge, C.D. Baker, and, of course, G.A. Henty.
