More Yummy Cookies
Today I made more cookies, all on my own! They are so good! Here is the recipe:
Austrian Chocolate Cookies
2 squares of semi-sweet chocolate
1/3 c butter
1 c white sugar
1 egg + 1 yolk
1 t. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts, finely chopped (I used walnuts)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees! In a medium saucepan, melt together chocolate squares and butter over low heat. When fully melted, remove from heat and add sugar, egg, vanilla, flour, and nuts. Mix well. If too moist, add additional flour until able to handle. Shape into 1/2" balls. Place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10-11 minutes, until firm to touch. Remove cookies immediately from cookie sheet and place on a cooling rack. When fully cooled, dip half of the cookie in the glaze and place on waxed paper to set up. Store in a airtight container with wax paper between layers. These will keep longer in the refrigerator (and taste even better cold!).
Chocolate Fudge Glaze
1 square of semi sweet chocolate
1 T. butter
1 t. vanilla
1 c. powered sugar
3 T. milk
In medium saucepan, over low heat, melt together square of chocolate and butter. Remove from heat and add vanilla, powdered sugar and milk. Blend well. Return to a low heat to keep thinner while dipping cookies!

Oh those cookies look soooo good! i can't belive that you made a gingerbread house ! I want to make a gingerbread house so bad but mom said that it's to expensive. But you all did a very good job!!!!!!!!!!!!

YUM!!! Those look REALLY good. Have you ever been to Austria? It's actually pretty crazy there and it takes FOREVER to get anywhere because it's SO busy. But the palace is beautiful.
