Adventures in My Fathers World

• Nov. 3, 2005 - Our First Turkey Shoot -- and no, we didn't shoot any turkeys!

We went with our local Royal Rangers to a Turkey Shoot!  What fun! Cold, rainy, muddy -- lots of boy stuff.  A variety of guns, bows & arrows, axe & knife throwing, even sling shots.  It was competitive and Jacob actually took 2nd place and won a knife.  Very macho, very fun.  (Do I get extra Mom points now?)

• Oct. 29, 2005 - Why does this bring tears to my eyes...

Jacob has been taking piano lessons since he was 5.  There have been some cute songs and some very beautiful ones.  He is currently working on the theme from Aladin.  Yesterday he woke up early and I was still in bed, dozing -- I wake up to the beautiful sound of him playing "A Whole New World" and such a feeling rose up inside me... it was love, pride, joy, peace -- it's hard to describe.

• Oct. 14, 2005 - Our First Teepee's!

Do you notice that there are FOUR teepees?  It was so much fun that Mom made one too -- I know, it's silly, but hey they love me joining in and it helps to make what they are doing more valuable to them, if they know it's valuable to me!

• Oct. 12, 2005 - I know they act like wild indians...

but for today, acting or reinacting wild indians is NOT a behaviour problem, but a history lesson.  (We were lucky enough to have a princess from down the street help my little heros, feel truly heroic!)

• Oct. 5, 2005 - Egg Experiment

The salt, water and egg experiment.  I think we had too much salt because we couldn’t get it all mixed in.  Saturation, I believe it’s called.  The boys just think it's fun… can learning really be this much fun?

• Oct. 5, 2005 - "Stained Glass"

I just love My Father’s World.  I know that I wouldn’t take the time to do the extra things that make homeschool fun on my own.  MFW gives me the freedom to play – because I’m following the curriculum!

• Oct. 4, 2005 - Being Twins

Patrick finally lost his first tooth last week.  Vincent, who has lost 4 already insisted that his had to come out too!  Vincent wouldn’t stop messing with it – he insisted that he HAD to lose his tooth with Patrick!  They wanted to get a gold dollar together!

Determination paid off, the tooth came out and they both got their gold dollars!

If these Columbine grow wild all over the Rocky Mountains, why can't I grow them in my back yard?

About Me

. A photo journal look at homeschooling our 3 very active little boys. Phil 4:5-7 - Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
