Goodness, we've all been sick long enough! The dreaded plague that has hit my home has permission to leave now! This is some nasty stuff. Stephen and Hannah came down with the virus first, followed by Cameron, Delaine and I. Jenna and Dad are now the latest victims. I just hate being sick. When mom's sick it seems like everything falls apart. No schooling, minimal housework, thrown together meals, etc. I'm just now feeling somewhat functional. Hopefully, by next Monday we'll be back on track with school.
This past weekend we all went to family camp (inspite of my sickness) with our church family. It was a nice weekend, although I'm quite sure I would have enjoyed it more had I been feeling better. I spent a good deal of time resting in our cabin while dh and the kids enjoyed time outdoors with friends. I have to share a bit of a "funny" about Hannah's perspective on the cabin we stayed in. A good assessment of the condition of the cabin's would be "rustic", very "rustic!" Not the cleanest or most comfortable accomodations by any means! Well, Hannah was just so excited to be at family camp she had to put a positive spin on everything. When we opened the cabin door she said "Wow, mommy, this cabin is nice, it's really, really nice!" The rest of us just stood there shaking our heads trying to figure out how we were going to keep the creepy crawlies off of us during the night! The lesson in this story is to try to see things through the eyes of a child. You just might be surprised how great things look! |
