Enjoying the Blessings!

• Jun. 3, 2007 - This one's for you....(Katie!!!)

I know I should be able to post more.  I mean if a mom with eleven kids can post with some sort of consistancy...why can't I!!!  LOL!

At any rate, things remain busy around here.  We continue to homeschool through the summer and keep ourselves busy with the little ones.  We currently have two foster placements.  Our little girl will be returning home to her mother most likely by the end of this summer.  This is a good move as her mother has done a wonderful job complying with the case plan.  Our newest arrival (a sweet baby boy that we picked up straight out of the hospital) will be going to adoption.  Just not sure who will be adopting him.  At some point in time prior to the state obtaining dependency the bio-mom decided to attempt a private adoption with him.  Of course, we are totally in love with the little guy and are praying the Lord will allow our family to adopt him.  I have hope that the Lord will act in a mighty way in this situation.  Either way, if I have learned anything through foster care, I've learned that even when things don't make sense to us...God is truly in control and sees the big picture.  So, we place our hope and trust solely in Him.  If I still have any readership on my blog, we'd appreciate your prayers in this situation as well!

Well, I must run.  I reluctantly say I will attempt one post a week, but you just never know!

I found your blog through the Bettendorfs site...we have been keeping up with Jillian. We don't know them personally but were made aware of their situation through a mutual friend. I was interested in your family because this is our first year in foster care. We have 2 children (siblings). They have been with us for a year. We have a hearing the end of June which will decide if they stay with us or go to an uncle (not a good situation). Not sure of their future. I appreciate what you said about trusting God with their lives...it has been a tough year for us. We would love to adopt these 2 if they end up terminating the parent's rights. Blessings, Nancy

Hi-
Not sure how I found your blog, but will certainly pray for your family and the baby that is currently in your home.
We just recently left behind our adoptive/foster license, as we are pursueing an adoption to Guatemala (can't have two licenses)- though we just adopted (March 2007) a sibling group (3) through the foster system here in CT. (long story short...we were waiting on our Guatemalan adoption -kept our "respite" license while we were waiting on Guatemala..well God sent 3 children for 10 days of respite care...now they are my children forever)

Our whole story is on my blog- come visit, I love new friends!
