Aug. 29, 2009 - Hello!
I, too, have sought the Lord about this very topic; homeschooling takes such a big chunk of thought time, prep time, etc., that de facto, our own 'things' are put on the back burner. But I read something that Monte Swan wrote in an article in the book, "Things We Wish We'd Known," that really struck a chord with me. He said that our children need to see their mothers pursuing and developing all that they were called to be and gifted by God to be--that this inspires them to seek Him for their own obedience and development. Our fulness as people honors Him, and yes, we have to do it with balance, but I think that it's important to make some room for our own dreams, even if it's just a small bit.
Thanks again for some great thoughts!
