Apr. 10, 2009 - The Search Begins
Horse and riding. Subjects I could go on for hours about. Don't worry, you won't be reading for hours.
Just recently I've decided that I would like to try hunter/jumper. That sounds and looks like so much fun to me!
My dear sweet Angel however is just a little to old, and a little to arthritic to be jumping fences.
So my quest begins. Because money is not something we have a lot of right now I need somewhere close to home. I'm hoping I will be able to work in trade for lessons because if not, the whole things out of the question!
I've looked at several websites, and this morning I even took a trip out to visit a barn, but I've been unable to find a barn near me that teaches jumping! I've not even found one that teaches just English!

Ohhh, I feel so sorry for you! I would love to take Hunter/Jumper!!!!! But I like you, don't have any barns near enough to take lessons from!!!
Hey, we should start our own barn!!! :-)
All we need is a stable, land, a couple of horses, food, water, tack, jumping poles......Ok, never mind. :-)

Try looking for one on www.craigslist.org.
If you don't see anybody saying they do, then post a add saying your looking for somewhere to work to take lessons. Its free to use/post, I use it all the time. Any questions, let me know.

That is really cool that you want to do hunter/jumer! I have decided that I am going to try english next year in the fair! Why don't you just get a book and the tack you need and try teaching yourself how to do english! Ok, talk to you latter.

Wow, that would be awesome! I hope you can find a place near you to take lessons. I rode English for the first time recently...and now I'm thinking I'd love to learn to jump! :-D
