Jun. 7, 2009 - Lipizzaner Stallions

When I heard the World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions were coming through here I thought it would be really neat to go see them, but I stopped thinking about it then. At least, I tried to get myself to stop thinking about it then.

They had passed through last year as well and tickets had been far to expensive, and I was sure that would be the case this year as well. It would have been, but my dear Grammy bought my Mum, sister and I tickets to go see the stallions for a birthday gift. I was sad to find out that she had to work so was unable to accompany us.

I have always wanted to see these beautiful horses perform, and was so glad the show was wonderful. I took a few pictures, but my small cheap camera was not up to the task of getting anything good, so I put it down and decided to enjoy the show. Don't worry, Eyebright was on picture duty and she got some great shots!

Watching these horses was so neat. Not only seeing what they could do, but realizing that they are still horses. That each one has it's own personality and fun quirks. The riders  also seemed to be having a blast.

The whole thing made me want to write a book fiction book based around the World Famous Lipizzaner Stallions. Eyebright and I thought a mystery would be cool. We shall have to see what this brings up in the future.

Another thing I loved was the relationship between horse and rider. It was noticeable, and it was amazing.

I was sad when the show ended, and was ready to go buy more tickets for the evening show. I don't think anyone else in the family would have gone for that though. However Eyebright did get me a very neat memoir hoodie.

So, I had a wonderful time, and would gladly go see it again! I am now very interested in the Lipizzaner breed, and dressage.

Oh dear. I've been so long replying to your comment you've probably forgotten completely who I am. But you must know that it is the usual practice of elegant females to ignore their correspondence for at least two weeks, so as to increase their worth by suspense. Or something like that.

Ok, ok, I must admit that the real reason why I haven't replied is that I am a fearful coward, and have been hiding from my unreturned comments for at least two weeks now. But please don't think that means I'm at all reluctant to be friends! I'm just a very negligent friend to have, is all.

Anyhow, your blog is awesome! I love the template, and I read all the way through all your posts without hardly noticing... they're all very interesting.

This sounds like the experience of a lifetime. My brother was obsessed with the Lipizzaner school when he was about eight, and his dream was train horses just like that, but of course, living at the bottom of the world, he never got a chance to see them. They sound utterly fabulous. I love how you've done the pictures, too - it captures the whole motion of them really well.

I hope you're well over your writer's block? It's such a plague of a thing, and it always seems to hit just when you really don't want it. The worst case I've ever had lasted almost a year, and by the end I was wondering if I had lost my writing ability altogether. Your description of it was so accurate, though, that I had to laugh. It was pretty spot-on.

But I had better depart now, before I land you with one of my page-long whopper comments and creep you out entirely...

Forgive me for my neglect, please?
