Oct. 1, 2009 - Links, Links, and More Links!

I think it's a little funny how inspiration comes in bursts and fits. I don't have a regular schedule for my blog so when my writing inspiration has a damper on it, my blog takes the brunt of it. Very sad for the blog, and very sad for the readers.

It just happens to be one of those times for me. All I feel like writing right now is one of my long-term works in progress so everything else has been ignored. I decided this morning I couldn't have that so I frantically searched my mind for something to post about. The result I came up with, links! I love links, they can open up a whole new world and all you have to do is click.

Movie Links
I'm never sure anymore if I can trust the ratings on movies. In fact, I've learned not to, but I don't just want to pop in a movie rated PG-13 without knowing what I might be viewing so I've discovered several very helpful websites where I can do my research.

The Internet Movie Database This is probably one of my favorite websites. It can tell you so many interesting movie facts, and info, and it happens to have a Parents Guide for some movies.

Plugged In Online a website by Focus on the Family that's all about... movies! Click the link to find movie reviews galore!

Netflix if your a movie watcher and you don't have one, you should. My family has loved our Netflix from day one, and just to let you know. There is a limit of movies you can put in your queue, 500.

Book Related Links
Books, books, books! Things are learned, stories are told, ideas are discovered!

Goodreads I can recommend it enough! This website is awesome for helping to find good books to read, it's great to stay up to date with what your friends are reading, and it can be a lot of fun too! Rate books, and right up to a 19,985 characters review.

Google Books not a sight I use often, but one I find handy when I do. If you have an account with Google, you can also get some free e-books.

Writing Related Links
For the people who pour out their heart onto parchment. For the people who bleed ink, and breath the air of inspiration... sometimes.

NaNoWriMo Nation Novel Writing Month brings a challenge for all writers. Can you write 50,000 words in November?

My Writing Nook I haven't used it that much because I prefer Google Docs, but it's a very nice and simple writing program.

Music Related Links
Music, everyone likes at least a certain kind, and there are a lot of kinds!

Blip Add your friends (or "DJs") and hear the music they have been listening to lately. Blip your favorite songs, and earn props!

Pandora Personalize your own online radio!

Look for a follow up posts with links to blogs that I enjoy reading!

Oooh, PluggedInOnline is so awesome! I've used that one a lot lately. My only objection is that I usually end up reading all the spoilers, too. :D

Thanks for all those links-- another blogger posted about MyWritingNook recently, too, and it sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out. :)

Wow, how is it that Eyebright always comments me first, and then you follow very close afterwards? It happens with just about every single post! :D

LOL, well, I do like math, and I don't care so much for history. It's not that I dislike it, but I prefer math and science over history. Probably my lease favorite subject would be vocabulary, but I don't have that this year!

My school schedule isn't really that busy. I think it looks like a lot more when you write it out like that. I don't have each of those subjects each day, so that helps.

Hi! I know what you mean about inspiration coming in bursts.... my blogging also comes in bursts, haha. I actually have updated a couple times recently, after more than 2 months of not blogging!

I hope you have a good week! How are you liking Kentucky?
Love, Ashley

Hi Jane!
Wow, thanks for posting all the links! I know what you mean about "inspiration.." =)

Oh, that's sad..=( anout the kittens. But yes, they are really fun to find! We have a million wild cats running around here; and they're all pretty wild except for the two we found. Really? Choir? Neat! I am playing the piano for a local homeschool choir here, that's pretty fun. :)

Thanks for the comment!

God Bless You,

Bluejane,
That's a great list of websites!
I have a Goodreads account too, and I need to add you as a friend on there soon.
My family also uses Netflix--It's really easy to use, and we love getting the movies in the mail.
I heard about that MyWritingNook recently. Might have to put that site to use sometime.

Have a delightful weekend!
