Jan. 21, 2008 - You're Talking to the Queen of Complaint

I could complain from dusk to dawn without stopping if I wanted to. I am not proud of this fact.

I complain unconsciously, I just say something then realize that I was complaining. I obviously need to think before I speak, not one of my better qualities.

I could not find a lot of versus that really went with what I was saying, but here is one that I found.

Acts 25:7 And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.

This kind’s shows that not all complaining is the truth. When you complain you make things up to complain about after awhile, even if it’s not really true.

I have been trying my hardest lately to STOP complaining, there is not point to it. It not only puts me in a bad mood, but it puts every one around me in a bad mood as well, and if there around me then they are probably just a miserable as I make out to be myself.

My goal is to be a better happier person, no matter what happens, even if I have to eat oatmeal for the fourth day in a row for breakfast, I will do it with a happy attitude.

Oct. 11, 2007 - The Side Art of Blogging ~ Commenting

In my previouse post titled Blogging is an Art I told you I would write another post about the side art of blogging. As for the last post, I could go on forever, but right now lets talk about the side art, which is as I said, commenting.

The art of Blogging is not only learning to write good posts, but also learning to write great comments, and if you are a really accomplished blogger you will know how to use the HTML to make awesome templates and neat stuff like that, but for now we are talking about the comments.

One of the most importent things is responding to comments. I can not brag of being good at it, but here we go.

It is just proper etiquette to respond when someone says something to you.

The same with comments. Someone is saying something to you. You should let them know your listening.

An easy way to remember to respond to a comment is to go to your last post, and answer all the comments there. This is the method I have been using, however, it dosen't seem to work, but maybe it will for you.

Another way is if you get the e-mails notifing you that you have a comment, save them to remind you to respond. This is the method my sister Eyebright uses. It seems to work.

Now that you know to respond, it's time to learn how to write a comment.

One like the following will not do.

yo that was so like cool.

you shold check out my blog it is awsome lol lol

First of all, you should use no slang like yo. I personally think when people use the word yo it is rude, and disrespectful. Act civilized when writing a comment, that is what will draw people to your blog.

A good comment would contain more about what had been posted about, and more about the person that you are commenting to. Remember that the comment is not about you, and your blog, but about them, and their post.

Here are a few things I look for in a good comment.

Spelling is just like it would be in a post. Try to make the comment so that it is readable.

Don't feal bad about leaving a long comment. Just so it's not several web pages long, I enjoy long comments, and I think other people do, too. This dosen't mean you have to leave long comments all the time, short and sweet is nice too, but if you have something to say, don't feel bad about saying it.

If you are a Christian, act like one. The way you comment is a big way for other bloggers to decide if you are someone they would like to have on their friends list.

If the post you are commenting on is a big "thinker" post, let the writer know what you think, even if you don't agree with them, just put it in a nice way.

Last, but not least, remember that you could be making someone's day, who was wondering why she still has no comments on the post she thought was great!

A great post to read about commenting, and blogging is on totustuus's blog, please stop and read it.

Please think about this the next time you leave a comment.

Thank you all for reading, and please, leave a comment!

Oct. 3, 2007 - Blogging is an Art

If you think about it, blogging is an art.

A blogger will look for ways to get his/her readers to leave comments, or for a way to get friends. They do this by trying to write what they think their readers will enjoy reading.

I am also into the art if blogging, I try to improve my blog, I try to write what I think you would like to read.

In this way a painter paints, each time he paints he tries to find the exact picture that will sell well, he paints for his customers, what they will want.

Now, I not only write on my blog, but I read many blogs as well. I can't say to much on what your reader will want to read, but I know they don't want to read a post like the following either. I am Not Trying to Point ANYONE Out!

hi guies like whats hapen in youur life!!!! i hav not don anythg fun for like year's!!!!!

lol lol lol rofl rofl rofl

so leave me a comnt okay PLESE comnt!! PLESE PLESE PLESE!!!!

This is not a blogging artist!

I feel like commenting on these types of posts and saying, Wow you finally found the shift key, and figured out how to capitalize something near the end of your post there!

On a side note, I can't stand it how people write lol, or rofl. I think it is okay once, or twice, but more then that is just to much.
My sister Eyebright and I got to talking about it one time, and I said, it sounds like the people who say that, laugh like that.
For example you walk up to some one and tell them a joke, when your done they burst out shouting LOL, LOL, with no feeling at all. Now if the joke was really funny they would lay down on the floor, and once again with no feeling say ROFL, ROFL!
Dosen't that sound silly?

Back to the main point. I'm not a blogger like Jocelyn who gets tons of comments, but I do know how to write.

Notice in the example post I gave you how many words were misspelled.
I can't say I am the greatest at spelling, in fact, you might have found a misspelled word, or two in a comment I left, but I try to get someone to check my post before it goes public.

Please remember that I was not trying to point anyone out by this post, and for those of you who do blog as the (a little bit exagerated) post above, this post (I hope) was just trying to push you in the right direction.

I hope to do a post about the side art of blogging soon.

Jun. 12, 2007 - God and His People

I try to read in my Bible every night and right now I am reading in the book of Exodus. The last few nights I have been reading about a lot of the laws God was telling the Isralites to follow.  As I was flipping thru the pages of my Bible, I glanced at the little headline telling me what the next chapter is going to be about and it said, The Gold Calf. I thought about how many times God's people sinned. Every time God would just remind them that they where sinning, and then teach them to be obediant again.

I thought about how a horse is the same way. Say you're teaching your horse to stop the minute you say "whoa," but your horse just dosen't seem to get it, so to show him he's doing the wrong thing you might back him up a few steps as a reminder not to do that.

The rider is like God, and the horse like his people. They do one wrong thing after the next, and God punishes them to show them who's boss, so to speak, but He still loves them, and wants to teach them the right way to do things.

God got frustrated with His people many times when they wouldn't listen, just as we get frustrated at our horse.

As God got further and further along the road with His people He still loved them, and didn't destroy them.

As we get further and further along the road with our horse we have the choice to sell, and get rid of the horse because it's just way to much trouble, or to keep it and be patient with it.  Even when you're really mad at it, don't get rid of it but keep it, and teach it to do the right thing.

For those of you that don't ride or own horses this applies to many things. Like you and your dog, or even you, and your younger siblings (Only in this instance you don't have the chance to get rid of them.)

I want to be a rider like God, to always try to understand what the horse is thinking. After all I have been in spots like that many times only I was the Isralites, and my Mom or Dad was teaching me like God.

Trying to find out what a Bible story parralles in life helps me to understand better what God is trying to teach me, for instance I don't want to be like the Isralites or that disobediant horse!

May. 30, 2007 - The Things We Take for Granted

A lot of people don't think about how important their keyboard is.
If it wasn't for my keyboard I would not be blogging, and you would have never of read this. If it wasn't for my keyboard I would not write my monthly newsletter, send e-mails to all my friends, or even be able to look things up on the computer!

The truth is a lot of people, take a lot of little things for granted, and the keyboard is one of those little things.

This was brought to my attention while staying with my Great-grandma. We were staying at my grandparents house, and I couldn't help, but notice what a nice keybored my grandpa has.

Our keyboard is rather old, and you really have to punch down on some of the keys to get them to work, while my grandpa's keys work with the slightest touch, and my hands danced over them. It felt nice to type, like typing on air.

Our keyboard is also dirty, over the years it has accumulated a lot of dust in between keys where it is impossable to get out, or where it has just been ignored. It has seen better days. My grandpa's computer is living its better days. It is nice and clean, and you don't worry about picking up germs from it because it is just so clean.

While I'm on the subject of things that you just can't blog without, lets talk about the mouse.

Unless you have a touch screen you can't get on the computer without your mouse. Another one of those little things people take for granted.

We have a trackball mouse. With a trackball it stays in one place, and you move the little ball on it to move the mouse on the computer screen where you want it to go. We have had this mouse for 5 to 6 years now, and I sometimes forget there is any other kind of mouse, but my grandpa has a regular mouse. I can't stand those kind of mouses (mice...meeces) I am so used to our mouse I can't figure out how to use a regular mouse, but I got used to it.  Then after the two weeks at his house I came home and it took me some time to get used to our mouse again.

So pay more attention to your mouse and keybored, they deserve it!
