I'm one of those cool dudes that think they're the only ones in the world that like newsboys, and they're actually not. Me? oh I don't like the city... no way. I like the country, nothing but it. Mad cartoonist also I am. Mad person also I am. I will be intelligent when hell freezes over, and all that sort of thing... ENJOY my blog
:3 Our house has been put back together, my niece is crawling, has her first couple of teeth, I'm taking my first written test for a driving permit today, and I truly have a suit of armor.
<3 I've missed you all terribly, and I'm ready to start blogging again~!
This is one of our favorite songs from the movie.

Well folks. It is indeed the Christmas season. And ya'll know the reason for the season, don't ya'll?
This last service, mum and I went to a WIC Christmas party (we don't usually) but a friend of mine who was in the play was going, and she isn't a believer. While we were there, she and I were talking about the Christmas season, but since we had other activities to do, I was not able to say all the things about Christ that I wanted to. She has acknowledged that I take Jesus' birth 'very seriously' but I don't think that she fully understands why. She is coming to our house for Christmas Eve dinner, the Christmas Eve Service, and I'm preparing this huge sermon to giver her (not a real one obviously) but I'd appreciate prayers for her and my family as we try to witness to her.
WELL, tomorrow is mine and Trey's teenie-bopper par-tay ;) We are having thirty-five teens coming over! It is going to be SO FUN... I'll post pics of that and after Christmas once it's all over :)

It is a blessing that Thanksgiving weekend was so peaceful, because we have been very, very busy this week. Chase has been making some final preparations for his second-degree black belt exam this evening, which included a paper on the history of tae kwon do, several extra classes and a last minute photo session of the poomse he made up, followed by several hours of me fiddling with computer programs to help him put it all together and print it out. And two last minute trips to buy ink cartridges for the printer (the first trip resulted in the wrong cartridge.) All I can say is that homeschooling does not make one immune to the phrase "Oh, and I need it by tomorrow." At least I got a nice thank you card from my son for the help. My husband's car went in for repairs on Tuesday and to coin a phrase, "It's dead, Jim." Our poor little 17 year old Camry is now about as useful as a paperweight. We are back to being a one car family. Oh well, I don't suppose it would be difficult to chauffeur one more person around when he needs me to, and on the bright side, hubby will get a little exercise sprinting for buses. In the midst of all this activity, Sierra has turned vegetarian, which involved a extra long grocery store trip as I tried to figure out what to feed her. Long story. I can't make this stuff up. Oh yeah, and...today's my birthday.
Update: My birthday is now past and Chase did well on his 2 hour test. Check out the video on this post at my other blog.
At some point, I'm hoping to start preparing for Christmas. I'm thinking I should have some free time by the end of the month. Good thing we celebrate Little Christmas!
Update: Hmmm...I still haven't really begun my preparations except for some small things like folding my cards and hanging stockings. I wonder if I have a free day next week...

Marina is in a knitting frenzy right now. She started some of her Christmas projects a few months ago. She could probably go faster if the cats didn't think she had the coziest lap when she knits!
Seriously, I haunt them!
And a thrift shoppe is where I found this darling little specimen!
I thought it looked just cute at first, but then...
See? How cute is that?
...and that!
Isn't he cute? Look, joyfully bringing gifts to his true love, with his little page offering a towel too! ah!
The Lords A-Leaping are a hoot.

Aw,I love the illustrations! So vintag-y and ever so festive, even if the guy looks like a girl at times...but hey, its Disney...Hope you all have a good week! I will try to post more later, but I have been so busy lately:0

This last Thanksgiving was really different and hard. I tried to be thankful, and I believe with God's help, I was. But since Thanksgiving has passed, I still remember it and try to be thankful. It was really hard to though. I found out that my grandmother is dying of Picks Disease that can't be slowed down. I had to say goodbye to all my new friends from P&P last week. We just found out that all of our Christmas ornaments that we have been gathering and collecting through the years got lost in the move to our new house.
Through these times that I've been sad, it makes it easier for me to point out the things I am thankful for most:
I am thankful for all of my friends, and the new ones I've made since P&P. I know that they will be with me to the very end and that they are willing to do anything for me. All of my dear friends are a second family to me.
I am thankful that Grammy is still alive and that I have time to pray for her salvation, and maybe see her before she passes.
I am thankful that we are still able to celebrate Christmas without all of our ornaments. They aren't people, they are just earthly things and they would have gone sooner or later. Our focus of this holiday season should be on Christ, and we don't need decorations to celebrate our Saviour's birth.
