Part A - Share about your family’s laundry. Where is it kept? The kids either keep their dirty clothes in baskets in their rooms or they put it in the hamper in the laundry room.
Who does it? I do most of the laundry. My oldest dd (20yo) does hers and often does ours if she's washing jeans or vice versa. How does your family sort it?Usually I just say something like who needs colored clothes washed? or who needs blue jeans washed? Do you wash by hand?No Hang clothes on the clothesline? Not anymore Make your own laundry soap? Nope...don't have time and not something that really interests me How often do you do laundry? How many loads each day/week? About 2-3 loads twice a week Indoor laundry room, in the garage, or laundry mat? Even more fun…share a picture! We now have an indoor laundry room,. In our old house our washer and dryer were out in the garage. I've had to do laundry in many laundromats...when we were in WA over the summer we lived in an apartment that had a laundry room in the basement. I would walk outside, down the stairs, down another set of stairs and then use a key to our private laundry room/mat. It was kinda cool. When we lived in a motel in MA we use to drive to a laundromat and we would make it a field trip...
Part B - Do you have an area in your life that you know that the Lord is tugging at some heart strings that needs to be cleaned up? Yes, I've been dealing with forgiving 70 times 7...Christians and non Christians... Have a testimony of your past struggle(s) that might help another homeschooling mom? Share a piece of your heart (dirty laundry) that you are seeking a good washing or how it got cleaned up. Sharing with one another is a great way to have your post feel human and real. For this part of the assignment I'm going to refer to an assignment last year...I think it will help many going through some of the struggles I've gone through in the past... bfs part 1
Part C - FIND a scripture this week that pertains to this assignment to help you with your laundry and share it this week. Psalm 51:7 KJV

This week’s assignment is to share a piece of your past. Our blogs are important pieces for our future generations, but when most of us were growing up, blogging wasn’t around. I hope that this assignment will help you to share your past on your blogs. Each piece of our childhood years played an important part in who we are today. The assignment is to post a baby picture. & Share a special scripture that reminds you of your past. Here I am...not sure how old I was...but before my sister was born (I'm the oldest of 4)
Me and Baby Beck (my sister's name is Rebecca)...I was so proud of her...(sorry the photo is damaged)
Here I am right before my second birthday in my favorite chair (I think I still have pieces of that rocking chair)...
My verse is...(and of course I have a story behind it too. When I first became a Christian (when I met my dh)...I had many doubts of whether I was saved or not (just like the devil to do that) so when my oldest was born and we started to attend church on a regular basis I went up one Sunday and I gave my heart to JESUS again (this time so there would be NO doubt) the verse that I remember quoting in my prayer (and I guess I learned it in the short time I was going to that church...because I was raised devout Catholic...)was... Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Except I prayed something like, "Thank YOU, JESUS, for casting my sin as far as the east is from the west..." So there's a little history about me. I hope you all have a blessed week, and thanks Tamara for a great and fun assignment!!! |

I kinda feel like I need to do some 'splain' on my choices...We travel a lot so most of my signs have something to do with our journeys... We watch lots of movies-on the road and at home (wherever that may be)
We like to read and because of homeschooling it just made sense to have a book...
I'm always at a new place, so I guess a name tag is appropriate
A moving van...no explanation needed there...just read the blog-lol!
Hmmm... I love chocolate...it really should be a food group!!!
Road signs...cuz I'm usually in a new state, city, or town!
Looks like a sign you'd see on a subway or other mass transit in one of the many cities I've been to, visited...
School bus...again no need to explain this one...we are always on the road (or so it seems)
And guess where my house is? Even when I'm not home...
Hope you all have a blessed week...and my verse is... Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart in all your ways acknowledge him, |

The Internet offers a lot of treasures! It may not be in the form of actual gold, although I’m sure some could find some on the Internet - probably on ebay! Being a Blogger Friend is all about sharing our treasures. The assignment this week is to share your Internet treasures. Below is a list featurning things that homeschooling moms might be looking for : information, support, ideas, or actual items that pertain to our lives. Each one of us holds some or all of these treasures that need to be shared. Take this list and add your “golden” treasured sites so that we may all share the wealth. Example: Favorite place to blog = answer for some would be HomeschoolBlogger
After you have shared your gold, please start “panning” for gold by visiting your Blogger Friend Classmates and leaving them a comment. EXTRA: Just add an “*” (asterick *=10 Classmates) next to your name to indicate how many “Gold Prospector” Classmates you will visit this week! |

A. Give a brief introduction paragraph stating how you got started blogging and your personal goals for journaling. I really don't remember how I started blogging, except that I have a couple friends that blog and they made it sound fun and interesting. People have always told me with all our journeys that I should write a book, so I guess this is one of my personal goals in blogging/journaling. B. Share a “dream” place to blog in picture if you can. Suggestions…..a rock on the beach, under a tree at a park….take or find a picture(s) that would best describe a PLACE that you would LOVE to blog. DREAM! I guess my "dream" place to blog would be here at my house...because with all the travelling we do, it's great to be home!!! C. Answer some questions to tell us more about you:
Psalm 121 1 [A Song of degrees.] I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
EXTRA CREDIT FUN: This week make a commitment to visit 10 classmates blogs and leave them a comment. If you make this commitment, then put a ” * ” (asterick) by your name when signing Mr. Linky. I have signed my name as an example |

Next week is the American Holiday, Thanksgiving! I know that there are several BFS Classmates from all over the world but I hope that you will join in our celebration of giving thanks.
Our assignment this week is to blog about your plans for Thanksgiving Day.....share your day in any creative form. Please try to include family traditions, your menus, who carves your turkey, do you save the wishbone, the list could go on and on. We don't have any traditions in our family for Thanksgiving...so I thought I would tell you our most unusual Thanksgiving and then share some other Thanksgivings...
Back in November of 2000 my dh took a job in Seattle. We had recently returned home from being up in Boston for my dh's nephew's wedding and knew we would be going to Seattle soon. Dh decided to leave the week of Thanksgiving. I think we left on the Sunday before Thanksgiving...We first drove to Austin and visited my sister and spent the night with her...then we drove to El Paso and spent the night there...I remember things were slow going...we were taking our time...A fellow Homeschool board friend had invited us to have Thanksgiving with her in CA (outside of Sacramento), but I had to decline when it didn't look like we were ever going to make it to CA before Thursday. We went up to Flagstaff and saw a good friend of ours and her family and we were going to have Thanksgiving with them (because they invited us) but we ended up declining because we realized we still had a big part of the trip to go and we needed to be in Seattle by Saturday so dh could be rested for work on Monday...so we continued to drive. Dh always wanted to see Hoover Dam and so we detoured to see that. Then we drove through Bolder City and stopped at Albertson's to go the the restroom and on to Las Vegas! Dh and I had never been there and thought we would like to drive through and eat Thanksgiving dinner there. So that's what we did...so we had Thanksgiving in Las Vegas...but I had prime rib...for like $6.99! It was weird...we had to walk through a casino with our kids to get to the resturant. We didn't know that was normal in Vegas...(as long as you don't stop at the one armed bandits or any tables...)!
This year we will be spending Thanksgiving with my brother and sil. My sil's family will be at their home as well. My brother and sil just bought their first house a few months ago and are quite excited to have Thanksgiving at their home. My family has 13 in it...that's including spouses, kids, etc...my sil family is rather large...apparently from my understanding about 50 people will be there!
The past year I did the Thanksgiving meal which included the traditional turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, bread stuffing and cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, green veggies (last year it was creamed peas, green beans) rolls and dessert-pumpkin pie and apple pie.
Before that we had Thanksgiving with my dad and his wife for the past 4 years.
2001-my dad's house...also my grandmother had past away so we had her memorial and we actually moved to Seattle that year.
2002-We came home from Phoenix for Thanksgiving and had it with Dad and Annie (not yet dad's wife then)
2003-Had moved back to TX. Thanksgiving at Dad's and Annie's new house (they married in August)
2004-Thanksgiving again at Dad and Annie's house
2005-Thanksgiving at our house with my family, Dad and Annie, my sister and one of my brothers.
When I was a kid and we lived near family (which was only for a few years) we had all my mom's family over for Thanksgiving.
When I was little my dad was serving our country and was over in Vietnam and I remember I wanted to watch the Macy's parade on our RCA tv...but as usual the tv wouldn't work right and my mom was so upset about my dad being gone and that my sister and I couldn't watch the parade I remember her crying and apologizing...she kept apologizing about my dad being gone too....on that note...
I dedicate this Thanksgiving to the men and women serving our nation all over the world (especially in Iraq)...Thank you for our freedom. Thank you for the sacrifices you have made for our freedom. Thank you to your families. May GOD bless you and keep you and bring you home safely so that you may spend next Thanksgiving with your loved ones. Words will never be able to express my gratitude.

I didn't want to accidently delete my assignment, so I thought I would just do a new post.
Also, during that same time (seems like lots of stuff took place during that time-I guess I really didn't realize until now...LOL) dh and I went to a couple of different churches...not because we couldn't find a church we liked, but because we were growing and didn't fit the mold of these churches. It was very difficult. We were literally asked to leave a couple churches from the pulpit in front of the whole congregation. Not as...will you leave? but the pastor would be preaching so that it was perfectly clear we were not welcome there because we didn't fit their mold...we believed in things that the pastor and the folks at those churches said that died with the saints of old...that was a really tough pill for me to swallow...because MY BIBLE says..."JESUS CHRIST the same yesterday, today, and forever!" Hebrews 13:8 We need to stop putting GOD in this neat little box...Anyhow...we were "Crucified by Christians". It hurt SO much...we were going through so much and then this...dh and I just wanted friends and fellowship...but now that I look back I can see GOD was showing us that we need to guard out hearts and be very careful who we allow into our lives and careful who speaks into our lives. "Death and life are in the power of the tongue."Proverbs 18:21 I also had to realize that just because people had deserted me, GOD would never leave me or forsake me.
Psalm 9:10 "And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee."
Psalm 94:14 "For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance."
2 Corithians 4:9 "Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;"
Psalm 37:25 "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
Deuteronomy 4:31 "(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them."
Psalm 91: 14-15 "Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him."
Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."
1 Samuel 12:22 "For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people."
More later...

![]() Blogger Friend School Assignment #6 Currently in our world today, there is still of lot of persecution. I believe that most of us, blogging here, are enjoying our freedoms, to not only believe what we choose to believe but more importanty we can do it openly and without fear that we will be made a public disply and tortured. We can write our thoughts and feelings and even quote scriptures freely. We can go to a library and choose a book to read of our choice. I am very grateful to all those who have served or are currently serving in any military to protect these freedoms.
This week's assignment is taking a deeper look into our spiritual lives and the warfare that we are individually facing. I'd like everyone to seriously think and then blog about a situation in your life where you know that the enemy is attacking you and challenging your spiritual growth. What area in your life are you feeling burdened or challenged? The purpose of the assignment is to use this as a tool to arm ourselves better for this battle not to make you uncomfortable. If this is too personal for you, share an area in your life that you have perservered in a spirtual battle or share your feelings on freedoms in general. ARM YOURSELVES and take time this week to thank our past battles that have created and protected our freedoms that we enjoy today. Try to visit at least one fellow Blogger Classmate and leave a comment to encourage them in this battle. After much consideration and prayer...I don't think I am led to share any areas that I am burdened or challenged...not because I don't want to, just didn't feel the need to...so instead I prayed and asked the LORD what should I share then...so I feel I am suppose to encourage and edify the rest of you precious ladies because I've been in many situations over the years where I had to totally yield and give a situation to GOD.
If any of you have read my blog, you know my dh's job has kept us on the road a lot over the years...we've lived in many different situations...a motel, a tent, an rv, an apartment, etc...GOD has been faithful and has helped me grow so much in each of these situations, but there also was a time where my dh was unemployed for two years and we didn't have any money coming in. That was REALLY a stretch for me to grow and learn and at the time I couldn't see or understand what GOD was doing. Now I can look back and see GOD's hand in it all. I had to learn to trust GOD completely...it didn't happen quickly! I was working at a preschool and I was going through the whole idea of "at least this is some kind of income...we can at least buy groceries with this..." and also I was struggling with the desire to work or stay home. Thinking I needed to be doing something with my life...a career...I was working in a preschool to become a director...GOD told me to quit my job..."NO, GOD not THAT! How will we put food on the table? How will we do this or that...?" GOD said, "TRUST me" "Oh yeah GOD, I do, but we still need money... " "NO, Trust me"...so this went on for a while...I finally yielded...but still worried and was scared...but GOD, HE wasn't worried or scared...imagine that? GOD not worried or scared??? Then over a period of time...as I read my Bible and memorized and learned scripture...I came to the point where I realized GOD is my PROVIDER, not a job, not my dh, not anything except GOD HIMSELF....too bad it took 2 years to figure this out...I really look back now and think if I had figured this out sooner, my dh would have had a job much sooner, but GOD was growin' me up and stretching me.
Phillipans 4:19 "But my GOD shall supply all your need according to HIS riches in glory by CHRIST JESUS"
3 John 2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth"
Psalm 37:25 "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
Psalm 34:10 "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing."
Psalm 23:1 "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want."
Deuteronomy 28:2-8 "And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee."
Deuteronomy 28:11-13 "And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee. The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:"
Luke 6:38 "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."
I Corinthians 16:2 "Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come"
Malachi 3:10-12"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts."
II Corinthians 9:6-8 "But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:"
Matthew 6:31-33 "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." **************************************
During that time, we didn't have health insurance part of that period of time. My dh was helping a guy waterblast (pressure washed) and paint a house to make some money. My dh accidently tripped over the hose and waterblasted his leg and had a huge hole in it. The guy he was working with took him to the emergency room. The doctors siad there wasn't really anything they could do because of where it was located. They gave my dh some antibiotics and sent him home. "Oh GREAT, another challenge...GOD don't YOU know this not having a job thing is hard enough? What have we done wrong?" We have a really good friend that my dh and I decided to call and ask him to come over and pray over my husband's leg. You have to understand his leg was swollen the size of an elephant's leg. There was all that water that had been sprayed up into it not to mention all the dirt and stuff in it. We waited all afternoon for our friend to come over. Right before our friend got there my dh had changed the bandage. When our friend got there, he was hestitant to pray because of the severity of the wound, but he went ahead and prayed anyways...As he was praying over my dh's leg, you could see water just pouring out of the leg, and the swelling kept going down and down. My dh then said, as he looked at his leg and only a very small size cut was there, "I can live with that"...right when he said that the water stop coming out, the swelling was all gone...then my dh realized if he hadn't siad anything GOD would have completely healed the wound...but the neat thing is my dh has a very small scar on his leg and to us it is proof that that's where GOD performed a miracle! ***********************************************************
I Peter 2:24 "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."
Psalm 103:3 "Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;"
Isaiah 53:5 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
Jeremiah 17:14 "Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise"
Jeremiah 30:17a "For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD"
Exodus 15:26 "And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee."
Proverbs 4:20-22 "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh."
Psalm 107:20 "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."
James 5:14,15 "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him" ********************************************** I have more to share, but I don't have time to finish right now, so I'll just post this for now! Blessings, Bobbi

Our assignment this week, is to blog about "Getting into the Spirit". I would like everyone to cover 3 areas in their posts:
Some traditions our family shares... Now mind you we might not do these EVERY year, (because of our life on the road, years ago when my dh worked graveyards and holidays, etc) but these are the the things we try to do each year when we can. 1. Get up early the day after Thanksgiving and go shop, shop til we drop! LOL! (the only day I truly enjoy shopping...I know it's crazy, but I love the deals!)
2. Make cookies and candies to pass out to friends and family.
3. Have a Happy Birthday Jesus party (the past couple years we've invited people in our co-op...I had the kids make the decorations and then decorate for the party, then we played "Place Baby Jesus in the Manger"...like pin the tail on the donkey, had an ornament exchange, read the Christmas Story from a Children's Bible then we decorated cupcakes, sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and ate those and other snacks.)
4. Get together (either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day) with my family and do gift exchange and dinner.
5. Each child gets to open gifts from their siblings on Christmas Eve.
6. Christmas morning Daddy video tapes the events of the morning.
********************************************************************************************
10 ways I can prepare for the Season
1. Focus on the TRUE reason for the Season 2. Read the Christmas story 3. Finish shopping (Hopefully day after Thanksgiving) 4. Set up with other family members our get together 5. Plan menu for family gathering 6. Decorate the house (and outside?) 7. Make Gingerbread houses with my kids 8. Write out Christmas cards/letter and mail early part of Dec. 9. Make ornaments for ornament exchange 10. Clean out kids' rooms and get rid of any toys, clothes, etc they don't need anymore. (to make room for new toys or clothes and also to share with others)
I have more than 10...but since our assignment was 10...I stopped
****************************************************************************************
A Scripture to help "get into the Spirit"
Psalms 100 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is GOD; it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gathes with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everylasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
