I haven't posted in a long time...I realized one day Blogging takes too much time...so even though I would love to spend my time doing it, it isn't gonna happen that often. Here's what's new in my life though: *My HSC board friend, Dadia, went to be with the LORD last week. This saddens my heart...I know that's selfish, and I truly rejoice she's in Heaven, but I'll really miss her posting, her wit, her wisdom, her unconditional love! Dadia and I had a chance to meet irl in Houston last summer. We had lunch together with another board friend. I have a great pic of the three of us, that I hope to find to send to her dh. *My oldest dd is graduating on May 25th. We will have a commencement dinner and ceremony. So the days ahead will be busy with cleaning, cooking, etc. *This past Saturday we had a baby shower for one of my dd's friends (a mom in our co-op's dd). We painted oneies, played games, had food and cake! I think it went well, but you'd have to ask the guests. :P I received some very nice compliments on my food...things like "I didn't realize you were such a good cook!" Earlier in the day, I was sharing with a few of my friends (before the showe started) I realized why I try to be a good cook the week before when my sil was visiting...my mil and fil use to think because my dh and I went out for dinner all the time when we were first married was because I couldn't cook-which was NOT the case at all. My dh worked shift work and we didn't have kids...we went out because...we could afford it, it was hard to prepare things when dh would be hungry (and dh does not like leftovers), and we like to go out and spend time together. *My dh is waiting to hear if he got a new job, which would allow him more time at home instead of just weekends. *My kids are actually been getting more schoolwork done in the past few weeks then we have in quite a while! YEA!!!!! *We are going to fly to Denver overnight , this month, to go see a baseball game...my sister found one way tickets through Southwest for $25! *We are in the process of planning a family vacation to Philly to see the King Tut exhibit among other things. We even got a new tent to go camping along the way! Hmmm, that's about all I can think of this very moment. May you be blessed today! |

Well with the holidays so quickly coming and going...I just didn't have time to really post anything! I'm behind in my Blogger Friend School, but might try to catch up...my laptop crashed and so now I have to use dd's...I prefer Blogging from my laptop...I don't really know why. We spent Thanksgiving over at my brother and sil house. Don't know that I've ever had a family holiday like that! WOW so much food (BBQ-tons and tons, Turkey, Casseroles, Vegetables, Desserts and more Desserts) and at least 40 people! (I think it was like 47) It was MUCH different than normal, (I usually do the cooking) and I think it really made it hard for me to move into the Christmas season. Now Christmas has come and gone and all it seemed like I did was a daily routine...it's been a very weird holiday season for me. I did manage to get my cards out on the 23rd...better late than never-right? Hello to anyone checking in from my Christmas letter! :) Christmas was interesting...I spent the day cleaning and cooking...although that never seems very unusual, and I don't mind...I try to get a big part done the day before, but since this year that was Sunday and we went to church...I ended up doing most of the work on Monday. #1 son got a Pirates of the Carribean sword that he absolutely loves and the game Clue...he's played it for the past two nights! #2 daughter got all kinds of neat arts and crafts stuff-she loves it...I just hope she'll remember to throw the trash away and not pile it up in her closet-sigh-she just spent all last week getting all kinds of junk out of there. #1 daughter loves all her stuff as well. I think she was surprised by the Brad Paisley CD I got her! I finally got something she didn't know about. Dh got me cabinents for my laundry room and a new light fixture for the kitchen that I've been wanting. It is very pretty, and I plan on getting the matching chandelier for the dining room! I guess that's enough for now...I'll try to get caught up and post more! Blessings!!! |
