Do you know how it goes?

Posted in Life

Yeah, I know how it goes.  It has been 10 days since I last blogged.  I think that is a record for me.  But with school, packing for our holiday and then being on holiday, I just couldn't squeeze in the time.  So I am back, and hope to be able to be back here more regularly.

Julie, if you read this, I am wondering what is up with the house?  I also need to catch up on my blog reading, so.....

Ok, the trip to Savannah was GREAT!  If youa re looking for a holiday location that is relatively inexpensive, with lots of history, exercise (everything is close so you can walk the entire hiostoric district), if you like spook tales, antebellum homes, art, this is a destination that will not disappoint.

This is our second trip to Savannah.  We liked it so much that 2 days wasn't enough and we decided to go back.  This tiem we spent a week and boy was it ever worth it!  There is so much in Savannah, it's almost unvbelievable.  I have renamed the city, The Key West of Georgia, because of its beauty, diversity, cutlture, and being a world all of its own.  There are many well known things in Savannah, of course it was the setting for Midnight in the Garden of GOod and Evil as well as Forest Gump (I think I spoke about that when I blogged our last visit), but there are also many popular things I hadn't realized, like Paula Deene's Lady & Sons.  While we weren't up for standing outside in the heat for 3 hours waiting for a table, Paula Deene is EVERYWHERE in Savannah.  We did eat at Clary's, which is a diner wiuth EXCELLENT food and great prices.  It was used ina scene in Midnight, the movie.  The antebellum homes are absolutely gorgeous.  The smallest house is only 2 rooms and sold for...are you ready..............$135,000!  2 rooms!  Can you believe that.  Apparently, it was the steal of the century...although I think not.

Savannah is a city that is history rich.  There is even a lot of train history there, that was pretty cool.  So, that's what we have been up to.  I have much on my mind and plan on blogging about it, so keep visiting, there will be alot to ponder.

I've wondered what's been up with you! We are closing on our house Lord willing on Tuesday. I am actually taking a load of stuff in my van there today and having a visit with my hubby who is working far away for the afternoon.
I would love to visit Savannah - I love those old southern towns. And if that house price makes you crazy - in WV I know a 3 br, 2ba - less than 1000 square foot house that sold for $224,000. The real estate market is crazy!

My blog entries have been spotty lately too. We are approaching the end of our first 9 weeks, so I feel I have much to do. We are looking forward to our first camping trip of the season, if it will ever cool off some. We had that one night of coolness and then back to muggy and hot. Glad you had fun in Savannah! Sounds like a great time!
