It is less than 2 weeks before Election Day. Every state has strong battles this election, making all the more important for each able person to cast their vote. Most election offices across the country send sample ballots to each voter which includes every all candidates up for election and any referendums/ammendments for a particular area, in addition to a "cheat sheet". The cheat sheet is a small ballot in which you can mark down your votes to take with you to the voting booth, making voting quick.
Take time out of your day to review your sample ballot. If you do not already have a candidate you are backing for a particular office, do some research on the voting record and platform of each candidate. Believe it or not, every official affects your life, by the way they do their job. When you make an informed vote, you make a stand for your beliefs about how the governement should operate and the decisions made.
It is amazing to me how often people complain about their local, state, and federal government. Homeschoolers should be informed and active in their community. Society has been brainwashed that we no longer have power. Nothing could be farther from the truth!
Once you cast your vote, don't consider your job done. It is important for you to be in the know of each winner. In this way you can contact the appropriate officer when issues in your community or state arise.
You wouldn't let someone else decide what car, home, or groceries you buy. You certainly wouldn't let someone else make a decision as to how you spend your money. So, don't let others decide how your government will be run!~
Cast your VOTE!
