Middle Earth Buttons.......

I recently found some “Middle Earth Style” buttons at Joann’s.

They were on sale for 50% off so I got them for about $2.00

RandomBlogStuff002.jpg picture by wintercreek

the pictures aren’t the best, but the buttons are a very dark brown with a leaf design surrounding the outer edge…would work great for hobbit or elf capes. I added them to my plain brown wool cape to give it an instant update.

If you are interested ....the company name is Creative Buttons by JHB and the style number 1000. I'm sure you could find them at most Joann stores or check out Joann.com.

Prince Caspian Costumes News... here are a few pictures of the costumes from the upcoming movie. I'm really liking Susan's purple dress........ (wish they had more pictures out!)

This is a quote from Isis Mussenden who is the costume designer of Prince Caspian.

Read the full interview here:  Click to Read

I love the girls' Narnia pieces; the first pieces they wear are really quite beautiful. We've built in Susan's daffodil motif that she's always had, right into her dress this time just layered on, and it's based on this beautiful fashion piece that's out of this exhibition in Tokyo. I love combining that whole medieval look with whatever I want. I mean, I have the best job in the world, I just get to make it up. Nobody can say 'oh that's not the right period.' It's Narnia, it doesn't matter."

                                   -------------------July/August--------------------

 Costume News: Elf ears.....

While I was helping with a Narnia play the wood fairies and dryads wore little pointed ears. They looked so cute...in fact I found a company that sells elf ears that look like Lord of the Rings style ear tips.  So I'm thinking about ording some...not sure yet...they aren't cheap, but look great... click here for elf ears

I like any new post-- no matter the style! :-)

I wish I could do hair. I have 2 styles-- normal and ponytail. Apparently, I didn't inherit the hairstyling gene like my 3 sisters. It is fun to look at though.

Now quit blogging and get sewing! I still can't believe you can do all that-- dyeing, sewing, creating... very talented indeed. Definitely a gift!

Marsha-- who will pass on the elf ears. It's bad enough that I have a big giganto forehead and an odd hairline... the last thing I need to add are pointed ears! ;-)

It's so great that you sew!! When I was little I thought I should try sewing, but I'm more of a crocheter now. I geuss the only "outfit" I've ever sewn was a small suit for my Kermit doll. It was a disaster.....

Oh yes! I don't think I told you this already but A friend of mine is having a contest on her blog. You are suppose to write an entry about a hobbit and comment on her blog telling her that you are/have done it. You can see all the rules on her blog. Oh, and her name is PansyDeepDelver.

Well, I thought since I was on posting I'd stop over and answer your comment...

Well, you really deserve the award! I was glad I could give it!

I only have pictures of me in the dress at the barn dance in TN, but if you want, I could take some of just the dress??? If you want some of me in the dress, that's fine too! Just say the word!

Yeah, I know what you meant about living closer, I wish we did!

Our chickens are growing fast, and soon we'll have eggs and meat from them! I wish we could've gotten ducks, but they are expensive, and the chicks cost a lot since we got so many... Oh, well, maybe next year!

It was nice to hear from you, as always!

Love,
Rachel

Hey Brielle,

I think the bulletin board idea is great. That elf ear site is cool, I've always wanted elf ears! haha

I know! This summer has just flew by, it's crazy. Soon we'll be back into school, fall, and winter. Man... where does the time go?

Yeah, I just don't feel like taking the classes for some reason... I know I probably should, but.... lol There aren't any colleges near you with those classes? That's strange...

I can't wait to see pictures of the Elizabeth costume!

Have a great day,

Hello Brielle,
As a matter a fact I'm posting at this moment. =P

Very nice post, when my hair gets longer I should have you practice some of those hairstyles on me! The elf ears are so cool, you should get some.

Does Aunt Deanna, or Gramma have any vintage looking apron patterns? Please tell me!
Love you,
Rose

Glad you liked the switched up tag. It was fun to do.
I wish we lived closer too. That would be fun. You could show me how to sew better.
Thanks for your sweet comment!! I am not usually that painful to myself… I don’t know what my problem was last week. LOL!!
But I think I am all healed now. ;0)

LOL!! That is funny that Superman is hot pink. I actually had some lime green on my template at one time, cause the codes weren't all the way done. But it was only on internet explorer, so I didn;t know about it on Mozilla.
I like Batman too. Batman Begins is one of my favorites. LOL!! You are so funny.
I so appreciate your prayers. I have been dealing with some stuff, hence the not blogging too much. Thanks, Brielle. You are a true friend!!

I'm good. Haven't been doing anything new. But my mom and I are going up to IRCC tomorrow (I think), to register me for classes. If we can find any at good times. So those will keep me busy when they start.

Awwwww. I can't wait to see the pictures! I guess this costume was hard to make?

Hello Brielle...
So glad to hear from you. I always try to stop by.

No, I don't mind that you commented on my other blog... that's completely ok!

Oh, I do hope you get your costume done soon. I know what you mean. Sometimes a project can get tiring.

And, you're tagged. I've never tagged you before because I know you post your business stuff on your blog so I didn't know if you would do a tag... Anyhow, I tagged you and look forward to your answers.

Let's see, 1800 era - about the 1860-90's or so. I like the way Scarlett wore her hair up when she worked in the hospital. That was cool. I actually look good with my hair like that, if only I could get it to stay that way.

And, I love the way Anne wears her hair in the 3rd movie, if you've seen that. It's lovely!

Yes, a castle would be lovely!
And, don't worry, I love love comments! LOL
Can't wait for your post!
Love you,
Jocelyn

I'll try and get them to you ASAP!

Rachel
