Jane Austen Dress Scrapbook....

Recorded In Jane Austen Fashion

Here some photos of a few of the Jane Austen dresses that I have made for others…

                   AmandasBlogPictures4028.png

After making this dress a number of times I’ve perfected and redesigned the pattern since the first few gowns that I made. So a few of the gowns were designed historically correct with drawstrings, but they are now made with just one drawstring and an invisible zipper….

The most popular color was white with colorful sashes.

Jane Style

These gowns were inspired by the dress that Jane Bennet wears in the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice.

Special Thanks to Jocelyn for being my very first online customer.

Here are a few pictures of her in her Pride and Prejudice Inspired dress.

Patriotic Style

Meagan’s dress was made for her to wear to a Patriotic church service…she was chosen to walk with one of the war veterans during part of the service and she looked lovely with her simple gown accented with a very patriotic sash.

Thanks to Rose, Jocelyn, Amanda, Rachel, Faith, Gaby, and Meagan

Thank you for your orders … it was so much fun to sew each gown…

More Styles and Pictures Coming Soon!

Please note that if you are interested in any other Jane Austen inspired dresses, whether they are from a movie or simply a Regency era gown… write me a note or send and e-mail I’d love to hear from you. I am not limited to just white gowns ,but that does seem to be the most popular color.............

I really liked Jocelyn's dress too-- lovely!

My problem is that the empire waist is just not flattering for me. It makes me look prego and I'm a little too big up top for that look. I certainly wouldn't want to look like a tart!

Any suggestions for a Mrs. that has had several kidlets?

Marsha

Hi.
I am an amatuer seamstress, and I had already made this dress using the Simplicity pattern, but the fabrics I used had too much give, so I gave up on that one. But I had some trouble with finishing the back. I would like to use buttons, but I'm not experienced with them. How owuld you go about doing this?
