Well.....I'm afraid I haven't had much time to blog as of late, but I have been lost in lots of costume orders. So if you are wondering what I've been up to......here's the costume I'm working on right now.....
Pirates have pretty much ruled the costume theme this year...
Right now I'm working on these orders......
Will Turner costume...... includes a black jacket and burgandy pirate shirt that will be aged and distressed for that "pirate look".

Will Turner Waistcoat.......lots of dying and cording work, but it will be fun.

Elizabeth Swan Pirate Costume…. This one will be fun....I like the waistcoat.

Elizabeth Island Dress…. (yes I know it is the underdress, but it is a cool costume…)

Well....that's what I'm doing.....
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you all for your comments.....I love reading them and if I haven't commented you back yet...I will soon!
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Oh wow, Elizabeth's island dress is beyond lovely. I love the simpleness of it... whether it's an undergarment or overgarment, who cares?! Very nicely done.

Thank you for your comment,
RYC: I am sewing so much right now! I am more of a quilter that a seamstress so I am working on 3 quilts in various stages, regency dress from Simplcity pattern 6630, and I have fabric for a skirt but I have to find a pattern I likke, I have lots of options though. Plus I have fabric for about 4 more quilts sitting in what has become me very large fabric "Stash." as my mom calls it.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Luv,
Kitty

Yeah.. I have nothing important to post so I just posted a random post.
I say it alot but I love coming here and re-reading your posts and looking at all the dresses. You are absolutely fantastic.
I was going to go to a Medieval fair and I need a dress. But like the tickets are extremely exspensive so mom said we can't go.. Which stinks cause I wanna go and order a dress :) :) :)

Well, at least your costume jobs are jobs at home. hehe
Oooh I hate going somewhere where I don't know a single soul. I usually fade into the background and just be silent, unless there's a really bouncy person who talks to me. lol
I can't wait to see what the Will costume will look like! :)

Hello!
Great comment. It was right on. I think people have taken "social" out of context. Who do they think the family of 13 socialized with when they took all their stuff and moved west? Hmmm... themselves!
I am doing good. I finished another template. So only 2 more to go! I think I am almost done with one of them. I need to upload the pictures and put it on the template. This one is on blogspot so I am not sure how to design their tempaltes - but I am giving it a try! lol
School - well - yes and no. We are doing what mmo has out for us but she's not all the way done yet with the unit study we're doing - pioneer - and then she was going to talk to another hs mom so we could all do the HOW unit study together. But, blogging is counting as school, espcially the StatesExploration and making my hope chest, which btw the I need to stain the sides of the wood and then coat with a protectant. Hopefully I'll be done with that soon!
We went to a 1800's festival yesterday and they had a bunch of reenactors there. A "War of 1812" solider was there and explained to us about his uniform and gun and costumes. Very interesting! We are going to try to start going to reenactments, whichs means I am going to try and make a 1800s dress! I need to finish my cloak though. Still haven't taken out that seem I sewed wrong. Wish you were here to help me - we'd have loads of fun!
I am also gonig to try to make goats' soap soon as I can get the stuff. Won't that be a doosey! lol
I think you should (or your mom) should get a homesteadblog and blog about youself and your life. I know you don't have too much time, but may when things settle down for you, you could! ; ) Oh yes and then you can post about all the award I give you - since I just gave you another one - come see!
Ok, long comment, but hey we're friends! lol!
Love,
Jocelyn

RYC:
Sorry you weren't first commenter!! LOL!! I love my little Superman. That is so cool that you saw a costume and thought of me!!
I really hope you are able to come!! That would be so wonderful!!
I only watch the extended too. What is the point of watching the one that doesn't have everything in it.
I have been wanting to sew lately. It seems like so much fun.
The tag questions were different. But I liked it.
I like italian too, but we don't eat too much of it.
So is BrielleCostumes.com available??
As Always...

Hi Brielle,
My name is Lizbeth. I sew also. My family and I are looking into starting a buisness together once my grandmother retires with costumes (something she and I both do) as part of our business. I was wondering if you had any tips on where to buy fabric in bulk.
Or tips on costuming in general.
Thanks in advanced,
Blessings,
Lizbeth

Hehe that's cool! It's always fun to find people who are alike. :)
Awesome!!! I've wanted some elf ears, I always forget about them when I have the money, though. haha
I'm good. Though this morning I woke up with a scratchy throat, and I didn't feel too good. I think I caught the cold that has been going around the college. :( My weekend is slow, which is good. I like the weekends to be slow so I feel like I have more liesure time before going back to class.
Glad you're enjoying your weekend!

Hello! You're welcome for the comments. Don't worry about replying. I know you are busy with your work! I hope your Grandma is doing better. You and Rose, I bet, are big blessings to her!
I am doing good. Thank you. And yourself?
You'd like the Girlhood - it's an old fashioned magazine - since Mrs. Novak loves everything old fashioned. Yes, we get along VERY well. lol
You're so welcome for the award. You deserve it every bit. And I know you don't post on your blog - personal things - but I still want to give you things you deserve! And, I know you can manage your template, but if you need any help... I am here.
You're going to DYE a coat?! Wow, that's wonderful. I can't wait to see your "in progress" costumes! I am so glad you're getting orders! I know your business is going to be big! but don't take it too hard. I know how easy it is to get caught up in your work. Mine is blogging. I am running at least 6blogs, plus commenting, and I am still working on 2 templates. I want to do all these things and not say no, but I think I am regretting a few! Whew... I need a rest. Hey! Wanna grab a coffee? ; )
Wow, 20.2. You must zoom through cyberspace, ja? lol! We're actually getting DLS so I am excited! I hope you can it soon too... I know your pain! lol
I got your email, and I will reply soon! I am SO EXCITED!!
And the elf ears! Brilliant. Seriously when you finish your gown and put your hair like Arwen's plus the ears - you could totally play her part! Oh do a post like that, ok?
Ok... ttyl...
Love you,
Jocelyn

Dear Brielle,
What pattern did you use to make your "1867 Spanish Ball Gown"?
Have a lovely day,
Your sister in Christ, Bethany
P.S. I really like the embroidery on the gown. :)

Hello! I Love the costumes in Pirates of the Caribbean. I really love Elizabeth's "wedding dress" I thought that was beautiful. Have you done Phantom of the Opera costumes? I'm thinking of going as Christine Daae for halloween to this big party- I love the black dress she wears near the end.

I love all your dresses! They're so pretty. I'm making my daughter a gown for a Fall Festival that we go to every year the first week of November. It looks very similar to the burgundy one, on the sidebar, Brielle's Booklist picture... I'm real nervous about getting the sleeves right though...I'm a very experienced seamstress, but this dress makes me nervous.
