Will Turner Costume .........by Brielle
                                                             Will Turner Costume

BlogTitle005.jpg picture by wintercreek Blogpic010-1.jpg picture by wintercreek

These costumes were inspired by the garments worn by Will Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Black Line Pirate Coat was inspired by the one that Will wears in the third pirate movie. The coat is fully lined and has welt pockets accented with pirate style buttons . Down the front of the coat there is a long row of buttons to give it the pirate look.

BlogPic001.jpg picture by wintercreek    BlogPic010.jpg picture by wintercreek     BlogPic009.jpg picture by wintercreek

Here are some close ups of the pockets and other details....

BlogPic049-1.jpg picture by wintercreek WillTurnerCostume050.jpg picture by wintercreek

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The fabrics have been aged and some of them hand dyed.

It is very hard to capture the correct colors of the fabrics and the ageing effects with a camera so the costume looks much better when viewed up close and in person. These first two pictures are the correct color of the shirt...the other pictures turned out a little too red.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Burgundy Pirate Shirt has drawstring cuffs and a yoke collar. The fabrics have been tea stained to have an aged appearance and the edges of the sleeves have been distress to give the shirt a worn look….

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Gray and Cream Waistcoat is accented with cording work and a patterned linen like fabric. The buttons that are on the front of the waistcoat are a dark aged gold …they have the look of being hand forged…no two are the same. The back of the waist coat is a hand dyed gray linen with lacing detail at the waist.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please note that the costumes pictured here were custom made for a guy that already owns the belts, boots and weapons to complete the look.

Interested in getting your own Will Turner inspired costumes? Send me a note or write an e-mail… (just as a side note, I only make Will Turner costumes for guys,....no girls please...thanks)

Oh, yes in case you noticed….(no doubt you hard core pirate fans did) ,but I know that I have the Aztec gold Pirate Medallion being worn on a few pictures of this costume, but it needed a little something in the picture and I didn’t have the necklace that Will wears in the second and third movie …so I settled for the Medallion.  It just looked better to have something around the neck.

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for reading….

I hope you have a wonderful day!

                              Sincerely,

                                    Brielle

10/12/2007 - a note from your cousin....

Hello Amanda,
I promised I'd comment...so here you go. Thank you for helping me with my hair tomorrow! =) I took a shower tonight so I'll be all clean in the morning.

The costume looks wonderful! You did a great job, the coat looks so nice and black, and the welt pockets are so proffesional....I'm glad you didn't make them the fake ones. The burgundy shirt turned out well also. I reallly like the sleeves, and it doesn't look at all to red! The vest looks great too, I think it looks good....(despite me teasing you about the back lenght =P ) I love the way the 'embroidery' design turned out....

I can't wait to see the chemise/dress finished!
Love you,
Rebekah Rose

Anyway, glad you got my email. I am looking forward to hearing from you, dear friend! I am proud that you posted.... I probably won't be the first comment since I was gone, but....

You did a WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL job on that costume! Just lovely... and very handsome!

And, I never answered you about the festival pictures - yes Hannah was wearing the bonnet you made her! She looks so cute in it!!

Love you too!

I really like the gray and cream waistcoat, the cording work perfects it! Amazingly done! Thank you for posting about it! I completely understand what you mean about the pictures not showing the true color.
I can't wait to see more costumes! :)

God Bless,
Emily Rose

The costumes look very nice. :)

I like the cord work on the "The Gray and Cream Waistcoat".

The picture I took of the sunset was taken in our front yard. I am afraid I do not remember whether I stood in our driveway, on the sidewalk or in our front yard. :)

I hope you have a lovely day,

Your sister in Christ, Bethany

I have drooled over your blog many times, but I don't know if I have commented before or not!

I was blessed to receive your gracious comments on my afghan blog, but I assure you my work is amateurish compared to your skills!!!

I love the name "Brielle". My youngest daughter's middle name is Gabrielle and I had thought of calling her Brielle as a nickname. However, it was her first name, Hannah, that got shortened into Hannie for a nickname instead... and STUCK! LOL!

Although when she was about 3 she told everyone her name was Gabrielle!
