Elizabeth Swann Pirate Costumes - Island Gown

Elizabeth Swann Pirate Dress

 Copyofshift7.jpg picture by wintercreek

This dress was inspired by the gown worn by Elizabeth Swann while she was on the island with Jack in the first movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.

The style is actually what would have been worn under another dress…so it is more of an under slip then a dress, but can be worn both ways.

Piratecostume2shiftanddressform052.jpg picture by wintercreek  Piratecostume2shiftanddressform081.jpg picture by wintercreek  Piratecostume2shiftanddressform057.jpg picture by wintercreek

Sleeves and center neckline are accented with functional eyelets and cording.

The dress is made out of cream linen and lined with a lightweight fabric that gives it a good fit and perfect drape…the back is secured with an invisible zipper.

The entire dress has been aged and dyed to give the appearance of being an antique. The hems and other areas of the dress have been worn and made slightly threadbare in some places to look old, but not so old that you wouldn’t want to wear the gown.

Love the style and simplicity of this dress? Contact me if you any question or would be interested in ordering one…

 Thanks you for reading!

Your Elizabeth Swan Island Gown looks just like the one in the movie! Your really talented. Yes those are American Girl dolls you saw, good eye! I don't play with them any more either, but I still like to have them on my bed. I have Samantha, (who I used to be my favorite too) a look a like, and yup, Nellie (who is my new favorite). Which ones did you have?
~ Nimrodel
P.S. no I did not sew my own costume, I bought it, I want to learn how to sew but I've never gotten lessons.

Oh my! I must say, I love this costume! I wanted to wear it for Halloween this year, but the place I was going to get it I didn't go to this year. *Sighs* I'll have to be emailing you sometime soon!

You did an amazing job on it, by the way! Great job!

Have a great day!
