An Ice Blue Narnian Gown….

                                              Copyofnarniadress044.jpg picture by wintercreek

                                            An Ice Blue Narnia Gown.....

This Narnia Gown was inspired by the one worn by Susan Pevensie at her Coronation in the movie The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. My customer desired it to be made a little more wearable, thus the length was shortened a bit and the flowing sleeves are detachable for a different day time look…the neckline was also made slightly higher upon request.

narniadress020.jpg picture by wintercreek narniadress029.jpg picture by wintercreek

Some of the fabrics used to make this gown were; a pretty light blue chenille velvet, (yes it looks like crushed panne velvet, but it is in fact chenille) the sleeves are made of a flowing periwinkle fabric that catches the light when viewed from different angles.

narniadress030.jpg picture by wintercreek narniadress006.jpg picture by wintercreek

The front of the dress is accented with gold buttons that are encompassed with a scrolling flower design. Surrounding the neckline and sleeves is a hand beaded ribbon trim. I used ice blue Swarovski crystal beads and small gold seed beads to complete the trim design.

         Thank you for reading!

If you are interested in your own Inspired by Narnia Gown please contact me.

                                                              Sincerely,

                                                                         Brielle

I hope you don't get tired of me saying the same old thing over and over again... but I love your creations! It always inspires me to try my hand at sewing. :-)

That periwinkle color is fabulous-- especially with such dramatic sleeves.

That is absolutely stunning. Oh Brielle, you have such a wonderous talent!

My sister and I were first speechless, and then just kept repeating, "Look at the sleeves!" (We like long flowing sleeves.)

Keep up the beautiful work!

Brielle~

So sorry that I didn't reply to your comment on my blog! For quite a while I couldn't find your "Send a note!' and just now did. Don't know why it wasn't showing up....anyways, to answer your question, yes, that is a pioneer dress, but, no, that isn't me. The girl is a character from a movie series called "Love Comes Softly." Also, not sure whether you got my pm or not. But, anyways, I apologize again!
Love in Him,
~Missie~

P.S.- your costumes are fabulous!!

Suilaid, Brielle! (elvish for greetings, :D)

Awesome new template! I love the header. :)

Yeah, you did tell me that. ;P But thanks anyway. :)

I know! It's crazy! It's hard to think I'm talking to someone really, really, far away... even harder to think she's five hours ahead in time. o.o lol

Have a great... evening! (well, it's evening right now. :P)

It's ok. I'm sorry about your mom's friend. :( *hugs*

I went to a banquet and airshow on Friday and Saturday... I'll be posting about it sometime. With some cool pics and vids. I'm so tired right now...

Ooh, I can't wait to see those costumes. :D

Hello Brielle!

Thank you for your comment and thank you for praying. No matter what happens, God will be with us through this time.

I don't think I commented you about this dress-- but it is simply beautiful! You did an amazing job. Where did you learn to sew like that? ;)

Once again, I love your blog layout... it is gorgeous. Did you have to mess with CSS and the coding a lot to make it look right?

I don't think we are on each others' friends lists... do you mind if I add you?

For Narnia and For Aslan!
Kylie

I would love for you to add me!
It's wonderful that you're making costumes for Cinderella- I played in a stage production of that show a few years ago, and fell in love with it. Even though we had to scrounge for our own costumes! ;-) I can't wait to see how you make the prince's costume!

I can't wait to see pictures! It sounds dashingly handsome!
We did the Rogers and Hammerstein version (cut down a little). I played a rather unimportant chorus role in the opening street scene, but I was the stage manager in charge of scene changes as well, so I was kept pretty busy! Being in that musical was what started my love of medevial times, if I remember correctly!

Hey!
I can't remember where I got that picture, but I do have a small picture like that posted in an entry on page 2 of my blog, and you can get it from there if you want. I might be able to get a better picture of the scarf, (maybe a close-up or something like that), if you would like.

Hey!
You're welcome. I do have some more pictures, several of them show the detail of the scarf pretty well. If you would like them, (I think that I have about 5-7 pictures uploaded to the computer), just let me know when you want me to send them (Do you want me to send them by email or something like that?) .

Yeah, that's the only bad thing about drawing with chalk, it can be messy, but fun. :-)
You're welcome. I just sent the pictures a little while ago. Hope they help.
