What a lovely color! I especially like the detailed strap. You have great taste in off-the-rack clothing too. :-)

It's pretty but way too revealing for me. :) You did a nice job on the straps though.

I'm having a nice summer. Haha, but very busy as you know. we're still deciding on the big moving question. Sigh.

7/29/2008 - Hello Dea Miss Brielle

Posted by rjdjohn316 at 11:49

Greetings to you too, dearie-
Thank you for your kind and loving, and sweet comment on my birthday post for Ike. ;) I was surprised but glad to see it.
Yes, I am enjoying our summer. The animals have too. We have been busy around here too, cleaning things, the barn stuff, gardening, the kids, just basically the regular busy stuff. :)

I bet you are glad to have a day off. :D Wish I was there helping you with those costumes. Do you have a lot more to do? Or have you finished a lot for this year? I was thinking of sending you some fabric I bought 6 months ago and having you make me a dress out of it... I just don't know how to do it and I don't want to mess it up. :( Just give a call (or comment!).

How am I doing? Just been peachy. How are you? Did you and Rose get those new ducks you wanted? I hope I can get some ducks soon.

I hope you have a wonderful day too, dear. :)
Love,
Rachel

7/29/2008 - a note from you know who

Posted by Rose at 21:45

Hello Brielle,
Thank you for the comment. =)

Thank you, (Thank you, never yes. ;) I can't wait to see how it turns out. I really like this pattern, although Aunt Deanna is right, I think this dress is going to be more work than my Christmas dress was!

Are you sure? I got it done this afternoon. =P

Briellebee, the greek dress is beautiful, she will love it!
Love you,
Rebekah

P.S.
I was just rereading this post, and I liked how you used the Enchanted pictures for it. I never thought that it looked like it until you said that, and it really does!

8/5/2008 - Greetings Dear Miss Seamtress...

Posted by rjdjohn316 at 21:55

Greetings to you too, Miss Brielle -
I was most pleased to leave you a comment, I only wish I could call you up and ask if I could bring my fabric over and help you make the dress and you teach me to sew... but alas! I do not. :( Don't worry about replying sooner, I know you are busy. :)

I did not comment on the gown the last time I commented; sorry about that! May I just say, you have a knack for that stuff. :) Wonderful work, I love the colour and the detailed straps. Beautifully done.

I'm glad you are enjoying your summer also. Ours has gone by too swiftly, I'm afraid. We did not get to get our garden in very much, only some potato plants and a few tomatoes. I was sad about that.

Ooh, the dress that Rose is making sounds so lovely! I wish I could see you girls making it. You should post pictures of it when she is finished with it. I'm sure it's such a blessing to have your cousin over at your home all the time. I have no cousins to come over. The ones that live close by aren't on good terms with us... and they are all younger than I am, so it would not be very fun anyways.

Seems like you are catching up, huh? lol... hope you are having fun sewing away at that machine of yours. With all the sewing you do, I would imagine you would need at least three new sewing machines a year! haha...

In answer to your question - What style of dress were you wanting? I have a pattern I was going to use that I could stick in there. But then I thought maybe I would just make a prairie dress, that way there would be some fabric left over for a bonnet to match it. But I am not sure. It's a blue fabric, kind of like the stuff you made my bonnet out of. How much would your fee be? And as to sewing, I can sew pretty well by hand, doing a simple stitch, but I have a hard time understanding the use of the sewing machine... takin' any trips down here any time soon? Maybe you could show me some stuff. :)

oh, I'm glad you got your ducks. You should make them some costumes and put the pictures on your blog. Maybe do a Beatrix Potter thing, the whole Jemima Puddleduck thing, you know? Haha... I heard you like The Potter Series. (That's what I call of her books.)

As to your PS, I am not really allowed to email.. but commenting would be fine!

Thank you for stopping by and I loved your comment!
Love,
Rachel

Yes, I'll make the neckline higher and the shoulders less baring if I make the underdress. I might just make her overdress and wear it with the normal chemise I'm going to make.

Oh, neat. That's one of my favorites of Peter's outfits. :) If you decide to make Susan's farewell dress, I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing it!

8/6/2008 - Note from Rachel...

Posted by rjdjohn316 at 12:43

Greetings to you too, Miss Brielle -
I'm sorry your garden has not been doing very well. I wish we had lots of green beans to pick. We buy four bags of frozen green beans a week, so we would use them all up! And the ones we didn't, I would can. I was so sad when we didn't get anything out of our garden really.

About my dress, o ahead and check on the fee price. I would love to know! That would be great if you made me one of your own. I don't think I have seen Rose's though... do you have a post with some pictures of it on there? If not that's ok! I trust your cuteness judgment. :)

My fabric I think is a medium blue, not too dark but too light, you know? I think I have about 14 yards, and like maybe 1/8 of a yard... I don't really remember. Would that be enough for the dress at least?

Ooh, that would be so fun if I could come to your sewing class, of only we lived closer! All my friends are in different states than the one I am living in!

How many sewing machines do you use a year? Yours must be getting pretty old, huh? lol

It would be a cute thing, if you did the duck costumes. You could do all those shots like what is in the book. It might be a waste of fabric, but it would be fun. Oh, maybe you send them via email, if I asked Mom. :) Haha, neither are chickens, I am afraid.

Ok, well, lemme know. :)

Love,
Rachel

Hi Brielle!

Wow, that gown is so pretty!!!

Thanks :D

Yeah, my sisters told me that they had a new actress for the same part in the second Batman. I didn't go see it cuz I just didn't like watching Batman, also wasn't feeling very well. lol I wish if the actor turns it down, or says they can't do it right then, the producers and people should either take that character out or wait until the actor is available.

Yes! Have you seen any of the Jane Eyre movies? I searched on IMDB and found a dozen or more versions!! Movies and miniseries... a bunch. I also found out that there is going to be a new version coming out next year, but they don't have anything on it unless you have IMDB pro. I wanted to see a Jane Eyre movie, but there are too many to choose from.
