Velvet Gown for Sale!

Occasionally in my wonderings while looking for costume fabrics, I happen to find dresses or garments that are just too pretty or nice to cut up. This is one of my finds!

Please note I did not make this garment, so it is sold as is, one size as listed below. Contact me if you would like measurements of the garment

Necklace is NOT for sale…sorry, that is one from my own collection.

What it is:  Burgundy Gown with velvet bodice and organza skirt.

The sleeves on the bodice are made to be worn slightly off of the shoulder, but they remain perfectly in place with the help of some fabric made under straps, so you won’t have to keep adjusting the shoulders so they remain in place. Here is a picture of the hidden straps below:

 Who made it?

The Designer Label inside the gown says Dave and Johnny… it is a really well made dress. Dave and Johnny is a designer company that specializes in prom dresses, wedding gowns and evening wear. I don’t know what year this gown was made, but it is still really pretty… perfect for the holidays! Like new condition…

What size is the garment?  The gown label says size 9/10….

I tried it on my own dress form that is made to my size, 36 inch bust, 28 inch waist and it fits really well. It would also fit a size 34 bust nicely. Please contact me for more information. This dress is really comfortable to wear, perfect for dancing!

How much is it? I am selling this gown for $30 + shipping and handling

Please contact me for shipping prices.

Thanks for stopping by :) I finished the overdress I was making, but I have yet to get any pictures. I haven't sewn a lot lately, but I hope to change that soon.

Yay! I'm looking forward to seeing it :)

It would be fine with me if you added me as a friend.

Did you go to any Civil War reenactments this year?

Thanks! I don't think it's suede, but I did find that fabric at Wal-Mart. :)

Yes, I love when patterns go on sale so cheap. That's the only time I buy them now. I've bought one full-price, and that's it.

I'm not sure when I'll make Susan's overdress. I want to finish the Ren. skirt I'm making first, but it's not really important. It would be fun to be making the dresses at the same time. When are you going to make yours?

Hurray for updates! :) I'll be waiting.

Well, I'm not very knowledgeable about fabrics, so it might be. ;)

I have enough fabric and patterns to keep me busy for a while, and I'm in no particular rush to make the dress.

I finished my Renaissance skirt yesterday, but I haven't gotten pictures yet.

I'll check back then to see if you update :)
