Pirate Island Gown 2

                                              Pirate Island Gown

             blog3.jpg picture by wintercreek

This gown was inspired by the one worn by Elizabeth Swan in Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.

 Blog1.jpg picture by wintercreek

The gown is lined with drapey linen and overlaid with light woven gauze style linen.

Laced up the front and the sleeve sides for a pretty fit, this dress is accented with light aging to give it a nice pirate look.

blog2.jpg picture by wintercreek blog5.jpg picture by wintercreek

(The gown is the same color as the second picture, the picture on the right was taken with the wrong flash setting or something..sorry)

Notes on the Aging and Distressing:

Over the course of the movie the dress undergoes lots of destruction to the fabrics, so the gown I have pictured here is not yet to that stage. I have aged and distressed it just lightly, upon customer request.

blog4.jpg picture by wintercreek

So the dress pictured here is lightly aged, if you would prefer a completely aged and fully distressed style please let me know, I will gladly age it more for you.

Notes on Neckline Detail:

Accented with front lacing and a series of eyelets; this dress has a very flattering silhouette.

blog7.jpg picture by wintercreek blog6.jpg picture by wintercreek

The gown pictured here features a modestly panel behind the front bodice lacing. If you would like a gown that does not feature the panel, please let me know… I can simple leave it off for you as seen in the movie.

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you interested in having your own Island Gown? Please contact me for details and pricing information…the design is customizable to suit your own style.  Just let me know if you have any questions… Thank you.

Hey!

Thanks! Sure, you can use the avatars. I'm looking forward to seeing the coat. :-)
I love Pride & Prejudice too! I first saw the movie last year (the 2005 version), and then I read the book not long after, and I'm planning to re-read it later this year.

That dress is really amazing--it looks almost exactly like the original!

I recently watched The Fellowship of the Ring, and I really loved looking at your costumes inspired by LotR. I love them all! As always, you've done a wonderful job!

Thank you for stopping by my website!

so pretty and authentic looking. :)

Thanks! :) Yaaay, I can't wait to see more!! :D

lol Me, too. School.... gr... :P

Yay, perhaps we can drive halfway and meet each other? LOL I don't know if my parents would let me... or, maybe they would, but I don't know if I'd be brave enough. ;)

Recently? Not too recent... I did just finish a drawing of Mulan I need to put up and I just sketched out a drawing of Arwen. Yay, LOTR drawing! I haven't been doing much drawing because of school.

I did have fun at the airshow. :)

Pretty dress!

Thanks for all the comments :) Yes, I think circle skirts are my favorite. They're easy to make - no gathering and only a couple of seams - and they look pretty.

I actually haven't seen Pendragon yet. I want to buy it; I just haven't convinced myself to pay the $23 for it yet (I keep spending money on fabric and notions *whistles innocently*) and with the Ren. faire and other events I have coming up this year...but I hope to see it soon! I'll let you know when I do.

Oh, Brielle, you are too cruel! Just found your site, your costumes are fantastic. They hurt...! Absolutely beautiful!
I'd love to visit you on one of your costume making afternoons, lend a hand or so... these sort of dresses just grab me, but I've never made one. That terrible Practicality steps in and says "When would you wear it enough to warrant the making of it?" And it's right... so maybe I'll just look at yours!
Sorry this is 'anonymous', I'm not a member of homeschoolblogger. (though I am HS'd.) I recently put up a blog; unlimitedpossiblities.blogspot.com if you'd like to take a look.
Keep up the good work!
Prairie Shepherdess
