My oldest (11) borrowed a DVD from the library to learn to play guitar. I wasn't sure how helpful it would be. Well, he learned chords and made diagrams for his bedroom walls. He also learned some basic rhythms (blues, etc) and taught his father.  Now he knows more that I. (I know a little piano.)

He might even know how to read sheet music for guitar...I'll have to ask him.lol.
