Here's How My Garden Grows...

Posted in Homeschool Kitchen

This year I took the step of expanding from a window herb garden to taking it outside.  I expanded my herbs - which are doing great! - hope to have some pics of those later.

But I'm excited about my cucumber vine...

1st - here's my trellis that my sweet DH got for me - even though he is laid off & shouldn't have spent the $$:

This is what it looked last week, cucumber vines all the way to the top of my trellis:

Question for THIS week:  What happens when your vines out-grow your trellis?

It completely disappeared & I'm thrilled!  haha!  But HERE'S the best part:

CUCUMBERS!!

I have counted 10 cucumbers in various stages of development.

Here's one of my other garden babies - one of my lavenders...

This is 1 of 2 & I'm hoping to have more next year.  We were in the process of putting in my herb garden - which was going to have 2 paths through it, a bird bath, etc. when my DH was laid off in April - soooo - the rest of that will have to wait until next year, Lord willing.  But I'm happy w/what I have this year.

I'll post pics of my dill weed, cilantro, rosemeary, sage, flax, black-eyed Susans & Echinacea later!

Blessings from Ohio, Kim Wolf<><

I had no idea Crosswalk had a homeschool chat!! I'll have to check it out sometime! cool! Also...pretty awesome about the Constitutional Law course. I've been wanting to take it, but just don't have the money right now. It sounds amazing and very insightful though. By the course description, I think EVERY American student should be required to take it. That would surely be a terrific start to making a change in our country, wouldn't it?! yep...cucumbers and feta rock!! I even got my hubby hooked on it! lol!

Wow Kim, look at those cucumbers grow! I gave up on cukes many years ago - for whatever reason, they always succumbed to Wilt. But yours look great! We've had a tremendous year for our raspberries, and a ok year for our tomatoes so far. The little ones are doing well, the bigger ones - not so much.

Blessing on you and yours. We continue to pray that Ty finds work - soon!

In Him,
Connie
