Notions of a Texas Ranch Girl

Mar. 15, 2007

Expecting a blessing

I'm including a photo I took of myself recently (well, I set up the tripod and one of the boys hit the shutter button).    If it looks like a pregnant woman you would be correct.    Of course Nathan claims I'm right at the stage where you can't tell if I'm pregnant or been drinking too much beer (brother....!), but since I haven't had a beer in over 5 years, and my sonogram showed a baby... I'm thinking I really am pregnant. :)   I'm due in August and am almost 19 weeks.

And even after 3 boys this was not a last ditch effort to have a girl!  We will be perfectly happy with another boy.   We've always wanted 4 kids, and since I'm getting closer and closer to the big 40, figured it was now or never.

We're very excited.

I'm not particularly fond of posting photos of myself, but figured the fam would want to see "my belly".  Although I am not promising any belly shots that last month or so :)

Mar. 15, 2007 - Our Blessing Too

I was just thinking how you've journaled for your family a kind of moving picture of your lives in Alaska since you moved there. I know it takes a lot of effort on your part, but it has been a great blessing to those of us who are so far away. Your blog and pictures have helped to minimize the distance for us. Thank you!!

Congratulations!! I'm just now visiting after a looong break. Thanks for leaving me a note. We've been home since January 17th ~ actually, Phillip is working in Wichita Falls right now so we've been able to be home alot. The children and I go back and forth.

I've felt very uninspired to blog anything. Life at home is busy, espcecially without Phillip. Mom lives with us and one would think it would be easier. In some ways it is ~ and others it's not. Also, when we're on the road, we usually have some sort of high speed internet access; at home we have dial up which really frustrates me at times.

I've enjoyed going through your pictures and catching up here. I'll try to be back quicker next time!!

Love, Angela

What a great picture. Do you know you look so very different in all your pictures to me??? I love this one. You look so happy, so pretty and so much like a mom (not a booze-er) smile.
I didn't know you were pregnant!!! We have four kids too and the last one just happened to be a girl....when I was almost 40. We weren't trying for a girl, she just happened and I love having her. I remember on the way to the hospital the night I was delivering I cried because I wasn't going to be the mom of just three boys anymore. Weird huh? I can't imagine life without her. She's a joy. And the boys love her too.
Anyway....Can't wait to see what God's up to in your belly!!

Just wanted to say that I think that is a beautiful pic...and that is definitely not a beer-belly! : ) I wish I had taken the time for photos like that when I was pregnant with our children. Have a wonderful pregnancy!
