• May. 15, 2009 - I'm Here! Wait--Never Mind. I've Lost Myself Again.

I'm sure not everyone has heard the wonderful quote (soon to follow--just promise me you'll read the rest of this paragraph before you jump to the quote. That would be cheating, you know) about being a nobody but doing something for Somebody? Yep--that's the one. The one that just kind of gives you goose bumps when you read it because it's so true (at least I hope it's true...because we all should be telling people about Jesus) it just kind of invigorates your soul to do more and to go above and beyond what people expect.

I'm Just a Nobody
Telling Everybody
About Somebody
Who Can Change Anybody.

I do so enjoy that quote. I'm not sure who it's by--whoever wrote it though, had a might good sense of tanginess in his head.

Now--do you want to know a quote (saying or whatever ya call it) that I really really DON'T like? It goes something like Modest is Hottest. THIS IS SO NOT TRUE! You know what? I don't dress modestly to be hot--I dress modestly to please my Lord. Does anyone that uses this little slang motto know the TRUE meaning of the word hot? Take a look at this:

WBESTERS DICTONARY DEFINES "HOT" IN THESE WORDS:
full of or characterized by any very strong feeling, or by intense activity, speed, excitement, etc.; a) fiery, excitable. b) violent, raging, angry. c) full of enthusiasm, eagerly intent, ardent. d) inflamed with sexual desire, lustful. e) very lucky or effective.

Ladies--is this this why we dress modestly? I don't think so.

Googled it. Looks like it's a song by the William's Brothers (whoever that is).

Love that. Where'd you find it?

Modest is Hottest? Ha. Ha. Ha. I say, Modest is Bestest. And I'm sure our Brothers in Christ think so, too. Oh wait-- this is funny: "top" is a synonym of "best". So, to make this flow: Modest is Toppest. Hmmm. That doesn't quite flow. But I caught a pun in it. Nevermind. I'm rambling and it's only funny in my head.

I need to talkee to you on the phone. Ey. Would tomorrow work?
I'm going to a convention this Weds and won't be back til Sat. night...we need to talk before then (and that's an order).

BYE!

I never have liked the term "hot", and seeing that definition makes me like it all the less! That is so very true... we don't dress modestly to be "hot". Thanks for posting about that!

• May. 22, 2009 - Sour cream...and other things :-)

Posted by farmgirls
Hello Tessa :-) Yes, we use our own goat's milk for the sour cream. Would you like the recipe? Oh dear, worms? We had that problem a while ago. We use Ivermectin once a year on them to get the worse and herbal wormers for the rest of the year.

Yes, we have made yogurt! And kefir. They both were good. :-) We have tried cheese, but not all of it has turned out. We finally found one recipe that works and freezes well. :-) I want to try the cheese again this year.

About Me

Blessings to you! Thank you for stopping by my blog! My name is Tessa, I am a homeschooling high schooler, the oldest of 7 (soon to be 8) kiddos and daughter of the most wonderful earthly parents. I daily live my life trying to serve my King and honor Him in everything I do. I do not live for the moment, I work hard to make a lasting imprint of Jesus on people that I come in contact with everyday. I know that the important things in life take time, much prayer, and a whole lot of trust in Jesus. I pray that you will be blessed in the reading of my blog, that you will see my King shine through each word you read, and that you will be encouraged to live your life for Him. Blessings! ~Tessa
