Thankful Thursday here again and wow, I made it on time this week
. Okay so it is the evening but hey, thats my time and man, do I ever thank God for it
. I have so many things to be thankful for yet it would take an eternity to go through them all. I will do my best to limit it here tonight
-
I am thankful that my desire is to serve God with all my heart, mind and strength.
-
I am thankful that I am saved by the grace of God and not by works.
-
I am thankful that He allows me to work for Him and reap the the harvest for the seeds sown.
-
I am thankful that my oldest son is going to be able to see his dad this weekend.
-
I am thankful for ex-in laws that are like real family and that I am very close to. I thank God for the relationship that have with my ex- MIL & FIL. It is a rare thing to see in laws become closer after divorce yet that is what happened in my case. Also, they love my husband like he was their SIL. God is so amazing with the way He can work any situation out to bring Him glory.

I am thankful that I was able to buy my dd's spelling for next year ahead of time. Actually I got it last week. I got a really sweet deal on ebay and paid very little for it,brand new.

I am thankful for the "little things" He has done and continues to do in my life.
You know it is easy to get caught up in all the big things that the Lord does for me, like paying my mortgage each month, the car note, the insurance, the electric bill, the phone bill, the groceries ( God knows that is no little thing there
), the water and such . I can sometimes forget to thank Him for things like, shoes on my feet, that I woke up this morning and have good health, that I have all my dc with me and they are also healthy and not malnutritioned due to famine in my homeland or poverty, that my husband works, that I have the freedom to choose who I worship (for now), that I have clean water to drink, that I can go to the grocery store and buy food, that I have a roof over my head and it is not made of cardboard boxes or an overpass of a bridge. That my home has walls, lights, electricity, A/C and heat that I can turn on and off at the flick of a switch. That I have a refridgerator to keep my food fresh and a freezer to keep extra food. That I have extra food at times, that my children all have clothes and plenty of them (believe me I know...I do the laundry
). That I have laundry to do
. That I have a washing machine and do not have to go to the river that is full of who knows what and hand wash our clothes, that I can choose to make the laundry soap and I don't have to if I don't want to. That my children can read and write, that they don't have to go out into the work force until at least 16, that they are not being used as suicide bombers, that I do not have to worry that the school they attend will call me and tell me about a deranged student shooting his/her classmates or teacher. And last but not least, that I have the choice to send them to school or keep them home and teach them myself. That He has given me the ability to teach them right here at home.
I must stop, I remember telling you I would try to limit this list. Yet when I start to think of what I can thank God the list is "limitless".
If you would like to read more Thankful List head over to Sting My Heart . You will find a lot of others that are thankful and reading their list will bring joy to your heart. Who can hear about God's goodness and who can hear the joy and thankfulness of another and not feel joy? Need encouragement, a little push, some extra faith, a good laugh? You will find all of that and more by reading through the many lists on this weeks Thankful Thursday participants. Who knows it may even cause you to want to join in.
Be blessed
Stacy
