We did it! We took 1st place at the geogrphy fair. I am not sure who was more excited and surprised, me or the children
. They worked so hard on this project and all the work and time put in paid off
. They screeched and hooted, jumped and danced as "Brazil" was called out for the 1st place prize. We were all pleasently surprised
. If you would like to see the pictures please press play on the photo above and enjoy your journey. Our local co-op is a small group in comparison to some of the photo's that I have seen of others out there , but we enjoy the meetings just the same.
As a reward for all the hard work, next Tuesday our little group will be headed to the movies to see the new animated movie of The Ten Commandments
. The children are looking forward to it and to be honest, I am too. I haven't heard much about it so far, only seen the previews on the television so I am hoping it is good for the dc to see.
Update on my highschooler.
I decided to give the SOS a try. I realize it may or may not work but I feel better already not having to be pressured by a schedule of turning papers/quizzes and tests in by a certain time
. I will also have him do the MOH1 with us and we will just go from there. One thing I like about the SOS is that he can not lose his books or papers
and the grading is so much easier becuse the program does it for you. Most of it anyway. My husband has also agreed to let him work with him as his helper 1-2 days a week for a while. I think it may do him a bit of good to get out and see how the men have to work to make a living. He will be schooling three days and working the other two (5-6 hrs a day). This week he only worked one day and tomorrow is work day for the men of the church. The rest of us will be headed to town tomorrow for the towns annual street fair.
Well it is getting late. I need to head to bed. I just realized that I missed the Thankful Thursday post again this week so I better get to that first, yes I realize it is Friday now but I can not miss another one so better late than never
.
Have a blessed weekend.
