Locks Of Love
Posted in Family Time
I have been trying for a while now to get my dd9 to willingly get her hair cut by at least 10 inches and donate it to Locks of Love. Until I took her to their site at a http://www.locksoflove.org/recipient.html and let her read/see for herself she was not convinced. However, after she spent just a little time on their site reading and looking at the photos of the smiling faces due to people donating their hair, she changed her mind. I had previously set up an appointment with my hairdresser because I knew we were cutting it but wasn't sure until today if she was going to go through with the whole 10 inches or not. Well as you can see by the photo's I am pleased to say that she did.
Then we had a girls day out with Grandma. It has been a long time since just the three of us have been able to go off ALL DAY and have fun together. She got a new hat (maybe take her a while to get used to the new haircut ) and some ice cream at target.

Then a few hours later, before returning home Grandma surprised us with dinner at the Outback.
I am thankful for today. God knows I needed just a little "Girl Time" with my daughter and He, as always, made a way! God is so good to me, loves me so much that He takes time to set days like this up for me and my daughter. Thank You Jesus! It was a blessed day filled with Locks of Love and Lots of Fun:)
Be blessed,
Stacy

That is so cool. I think it's great to let her see for herself what she can do just by giving up a little hair.
For the record, I think her new hair cut is adorable!

Awww-what a wonderful thing she did! My dd did this a year and a half ago-it was so rewarding, but very hard for me to see her beautiful hair get cut off.
Your dd's new haircut is adorable and my dd thinks that is a great hat she's got on! Holly

Her hair looks so cute!!! She looks older. That was very sweet of her. I want Bailey to do that when her hair gets a little longer. She hasn't yet wanted to. Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
