TRUST

There are many things that I could thank Him for tonight, but I believe that what I am most thankful for this evening is a peace that surpasses all understanding. Perfect Peace. Many times my mind tried to wonder this week in areas that it should not. Worry and fret tried to move in, doubt and fear also but because this scripture kept coming into my mind (His word says that He would bring them to mind)they could not stay.
I was reminded over and over by His word to trust him. Oh how I love to give it all to him and lay it down at his feet knowing that He is able to handle anything. Why? His Word says that "with God, all things are possible".
No matter the situations that arise or how impossible things may look to our natural eyes, if we trust in the unseen hand, we can be sure He will work it out. His word says that with man it is impossible but with God ALL things are possible. He can do exceedingly and abundantly above all we can ask or think. He knows what we have need of before we ever ask it. Look it up, it's in His Word. Now why can I feel so good just because it is in His Word? I trust Him, I trust His Word to be complete, 100% truth. No errors. There are no errors on God's part. Oh there have been plenty on mine but I really believe I can not go wrong if I just trust him.
Iris talked about trust. Without trusting in Him, we can not have this peace. The scripture says "because he trusteth in thee." I am reminded once again of an old Hymn, (words are written by Louisa M. R. Stead) :
"Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
And to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, “Thus says the Lord!”
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end."
Tonight I am thankful that when I put my trust in Him, when I keep my mind stayed (meditating on His Word, Reading His Word, Praying, Thanking, Remembering what He has already done for me, remembering the cross, remembering that I am saved by grace,communicating with Him daily) on Him, He gives me "life and rest and joy and (perfect) peace)."
Yes, I have been guilty of not trusting in Him and His word and believe me, there is no peace in that. I am a work in progress and not nearly where I should be in this area of my life. So I hope you do not think I am boasting, I can not. If I boast I only boast in the Lord (as Paul said), and what He (not me) has done, is doing, and will do for me, you and for all who trust in Him. What I am saying is that on this Thankful Thursday I am thankful that He reminds and helps me to trust in Him.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Lord I thank you for helping me in this area of my life. I thank you for the situations that have caused me to completely have to trust in you. There were no other choices and I thank you for that. I thank You for the peace that I know only came from you this week.
Lord help me to remember that fret and worry do nothing but bring me and those around me down. Actually when I worry and fret it shows my lack of trust in you. Forgive me Lord for the times that I have not trusted in you and let these other things get in the way. I know Lord there is absolutely nothing bigger than you. Your word says that you do not give me a spirit of fear but of love and power and of a sound mind. I thank you Lord tonight for a sound mind~in You~.
Thanks so much for stopping by.Please remember to leave a comment letting me know you visited. I pray the Lord bless you today. If you would like to read more from thankful hearts this week click on the Thankful Thursday graphic at the very top of this post.
