• May. 31, 2006 - Shhh....don't tell anyone!

We aren't doing school, ok?  So don't tell anyone!  See?

But just in case you think we might need to know some things, maybe you can help us out.  We have a few dilemmas we need help solving.

What on earth is this?

And how about this?  What kind of critter is that, anyhow?!  And what is that guy doing under there????

And tell me, what can I do with this plant?  Does anyone have any ideas????

And last but not least, will someone please tell the authorities that there is something terribly wrong here!

 Look closely....

This young boy fell asleep reading a .........that's right,

 a COOKBOOK!

Run for your lives, the world has gone mad.

Homeschooling is Life!

Nancy

p.s. there might be a contest involved......so post some creative answers for me, ok?

I think your son was attempting to fill his mind with good food so he could dream about it! You know how your dreams incorporate some of the events of the day, well, he was just insuring that some of his dreams were about food!

I know.. your son was looking for some recipes he could make with his spatuala!
What a blessing!
The green stuff in your siding has me guessing.. lol
That 'critter" sure is a big critter. I'm sure he works well. When my dad had a ranch, before he retired... lol... we had one of them perchurons (a breed of draft horse) named cinnamon. I even considered going to school to be a farrier.
Looks like parsley, almost... I'm all hip on rose hips.. but.. not sure about that plant. I wanted to go on that hike in the GOTG's but it was filled up. *pout*

See ya,
Di

Pic -1 : some kind of fungus
Pic -2 : Clydesdale Horse and they are putting horse shoes on.
Pic- 3 : some kind of herb for tinctures

My boys really thought the pic of your son reading a cook book was really funny.

Aww, the kids' pics are adorable, both of them! Ha, I have that cook book... and I'm up late... perhaps I should go read it! LOL

1. That green stuff looks like pieces of leaves -- I've seen leaf cutter bees around here take good (well cut) pieces up into small crevices and out of the way places to build their nests. hmm... could be?

2. Wow, what a strong, sturdy looking creature!

3. Hmm, I love a good gardening stumper! Considering that long taproot (or what I'm thinking is a taproot in the pic) I'm thinking it's a pretty "volunteer"... ahem, weed. :-) Try as I might to discourage some of them, I have some of the prettiest "volunteers" in town! lol If it is, indeed, a weed... what to do with it? Totally up to you... but fighting them is futile, lol. If it is not a weed... I must know what it is and what you did do with it!!! :-)

That pic of sleeping son is what I call "sweet dreams." Did you turn to the pastry page or did he just drift off with visions of sugarplums dancing in his head?

Really like the barn shot too.

Do you really want to know what that sea green monster is? Hmmm how far away were you standing? Please tell me you did not touch that thing. If you develop a speckled purple rash and a craving for crab bisque let me know. If you ears start buzzing or you smell sea weed, let me know. Do take care.

About Me

Hi There!

Welcome to my blog.
How nice of you to drop in. What is this all about you say? Well, take a look and see.

Just like the plants springing forth we are following the Son, soaking up the living water and pulling the weeds. We can't wait to see what will bloom THIS growing season!

Oh, and just for fun, I will tell you a little about me, since that is what this space is for. :)

I am a mother of four lovely kids who are perfectly human in every way. They are sinful, selfish, loving, happy, grumpy, excited, capable, frustratable, (I know, that isn't a word but sometimes I make up my own) and sometimes contrite, and just like their parents. But they are ours and we think they are all keepers!

We have homeschooled them all since birth with the trial and error method. I think they all have "made the grade" and they are now 16, 13, 11 and 9 years old.

We're not experts, except in the area of making mistakes and living to tell about them and hopefully learn from them! We hope you will find some encouragement here as you read about the seasons of our life as a homeschooling family.
