"May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, my rock, my fortress and my redeemer." Psalm 19:14
Did you read today about the "Judge" in California declaring that the Pledge of Allegiance is un-Constitutional in public schools? How long will endure this kind of travesty?
Here is one headline:
Judge declares pledge unconstitutional
A judge rules reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools is unconstitutional, citing as precedent a case the Supreme Court dismissed in June.

At first when we started homeschooling, many moons ago, I felt a little strange "acting" like a public school, standing and reciting The Pledge. But now, is seems that our little homeschool is acting more like the public schools aught to be acting, and the sickness prevailing in the hearts and mind of a lot of renegade "Judges" needs to be cured.
Right after 9-11 we went out and bought us a flag pole and a a new "Old Glory" and put them out in the front yard. We put out a spotlight so it could be illuminated at night. I got a call from one of our neighbors late one night, but she wasn't complaining that the light was keeping her awake. This was a military Momma, and she wanted to say that she saw it shining there out her window and was blessed, and wanted to say "Thank You."
This morning I found a really neat printable scroll of the Pledge on this neat website dedicated to Medal of Honor recipients.
Print one out for your homeschool! It is beautiful.
That website has a lot of good looking info on the Pledge of Allegiance, and what it means. Take a look. I can't endorse the whole site, since I haven't had time to read it all.
And read this whole A.P. story, it has some good notes at the bottom, but once again, I can't say whether it is totally accurate. Sounds like a homeschool research project to me.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, Each Other, and Our County,
Nancy
