Homeschooling Is Life! - Thank you, prayers answered!

We had a very long, exhausting but very uplifting day today! Our HUGE sale was on TV, and we had many people come down and support this effort, but only a handful of volunteers. We are just chalking that up to a very busy weekend for everyone, but boy are we beat! As soon as I close, I will hit the hay :)

We made over $1000 today!!!! All of this will go to America's Second Harvest, which has even waived their small administrative fee for us, so all this goes right to the relief effort. We are so blessed! Most everyone was very supportive, and gave donations sacrificially. We even had a band there for some very upbeat shopping music----called "Cool Dirt." I kid you not. They are a classic rock band, although not my favorite genre of music in my "old age," they were WONDERFUL people and we were thrilled to have them come and support us too. We also had a bounce house for the kids and plenty of food for sale etc.

One more day to go, and then we can rest again. So tomorrow, we will head over there----I know it is Sunday. But we will still have our house church worship time, and then go do what the Lord has put in our path to help with on this lovely day.

God is good!

Welcome to my blog.
How nice of you to drop in. What is this all about you say? Well, take a look and see.

Just like the plants springing forth we are following the Son, soaking up the living water and pulling the weeds. We can't wait to see what will bloom THIS growing season!

Oh, and just for fun, I will tell you a little about me, since that is what this space is for. :)

I am a mother of four lovely kids who are perfectly human in every way. They are sinful, selfish, loving, happy, grumpy, excited, capable, frustratable, (I know, that isn't a word but sometimes I make up my own) and sometimes contrite, and just like their parents. But they are ours and we think they are all keepers!

We have homeschooled them all since birth with the trial and error method. I think they all have "made the grade" and they are now 16, 13, 11 and 9 years old.

We're not experts, except in the area of making mistakes and living to tell about them and hopefully learn from them! We hope you will find some encouragement here as you read about the seasons of our life as a homeschooling family.
