Nope, it's not a bird or a plane, it's SPRING!!!!
I know, we can't get too excited and do something foolish like planting....it's too early for most things. But this week so far has been a teaser! After numerous blizzards it looks like Spring is coming. Officially, it's a few weeks away on the calendar....in actuality, it could be months. :) I am, however going to enjoy each lovely day that comes our way and thank God for the promise of Spring!
There is so much great stuff going on around the blogosphere! Right here on HSB there is a contest over at Gena's blog. It's a photo contest!! Got lotsa photos you might search through? Or want to go create a new one? Go see! You can get your work on an e-book cover.
And then there is a HUGE Party going on at 5 Minutes For Mom! It is the Ultimate Blog party, so you better get on over there and see what is up. It's been going on since the 2nd, and there is only a day or two left! There are literally dozens of prizes being given away but you have to act fast.
Speaking of parties, my daughter is in the middle of planning a SPRING party! Here are some of her preparations so far: Origami roses wallpaper (literally) all over her room. It is SO bright, I get dizzy everytime I walk in there.

The siblings said they counted 100 of them!
Then she has made this decoration...it is this really neat paper flower....(actually a snowflake turned flower.) Here is the link for directions over on Mamaduso's blog.

And her brother just made this pressed flower picture for her to put up for the party

She is planning to make butterscotch pie, and who knows what else....I am sure it will be wonderful though! She's quite the cook. This week it was fresh pineapple upside-down cake. From scratch, hot out of the oven for dessert. Yummy!
The weather was so lovely yesterday that the kids got this wild hair and decided to make our little side deck into a pirate ship. We had quite the noise going on out there, and the costumes were very creative. We had earrings galore, bathrobes, tricorn hats and eyepatches. There was a real ships wheel, a sheet for a main'sl and even a flag (towel on a pole) and an anchor, (brick on a rope) and don't forget a gangplank! There were lots of "Arrrrggh's" and other piraty kinds of utterances going on. Thankfully I was in the house (safe) most of the time. The cat, however wasn't so fortunate and although she didn't have to walk the plank, she did have to wear an eyepatch for a few minutes. (Just long enough for me to go get the camera!

Well, "ahoy matey", or however you say goodbye in piratese.
