The best part of waking up on a cold morning up in the mountains, zillions of miles from any thing that smacks of civilization---exept, of course my beloved propane stove......is a hot cup of coffee. With sugar, and cream, and chocolate, and marshmallows............oh, come on! Live a little! Yummy!

I never got a chance to finish this one.......if I ever do, I will repost a new picture, OK?

Rats! I keep forgetting that the kids did some drawings too.....now, where could they have gotten to? Hmmmm. Crazy homeschooled kids! Always losing stuff. Guess I better have a parent/teacher conference. Ooops, guess that would mean I have to talk to myself----oh, I guess that's what I am ALREADY doing. I think I will rename my blog "just checking in to see how I am today, fine? Good. Have a nice day."

Re your sketch. Very nice. Reminds me of the old gray coffee pot my grandpa carried on the trains in the 20s'. Sits on my mantle today. Grandpa's job was to keep the livestock (chickens) alive, which is probably easier if you have had a cup of coffee. Wishing we had a pot to share. You put on the coffee and I'll make my prize winning homemade pecan sticky buns. (They never actually won a prize but they are a prize to taste!) On second thought, the menfolk can make us some coffee. After all, we want to be Biblically based coffee consumers. See Hebrews. (He-brews).

Just like the plants springing forth we are following the Son, soaking up the living water and pulling the weeds. We can't wait to see what will bloom THIS growing season!

Oh, and just for fun, I will tell you a little about me, since that is what this space is for. :)

I am a mother of four lovely kids who are perfectly human in every way. They are sinful, selfish, loving, happy, grumpy, excited, capable, frustratable, (I know, that isn't a word but sometimes I make up my own) and sometimes contrite, and just like their parents. But they are ours and we think they are all keepers!

We have homeschooled them all since birth with the trial and error method. I think they all have "made the grade" and they are now 16, 13, 11 and 9 years old.

We're not experts, except in the area of making mistakes and living to tell about them and hopefully learn from them! We hope you will find some encouragement here as you read about the seasons of our life as a homeschooling family.
