Homeschooling Is Life! - Haircuts Live!

Hair Cutting

• Apr. 22, 2008 - Haircuts Live!

HI friends!

Wed, April 23, (Tomorrow!)  I have the pleasure of being interviewed by Cindy Rushton!  She is going to be asking me questions about my e-Book, "Haircuts For Little Men."

I am honored to be a vendor at her 2008 Ultimate Homeschool Expo which starts April 28th.  Right now, she is hosting FREE preview chats that you don't want to miss either!  I just can't say enough about how much fun these virtual conferences are.  You can listen right in the comfort of your home and even "do" things while you listen!  Last year I cleaned my entire office during the UHSE!  And it's just about time to do that again.

Tomorrow, Wednesday April 23, at 7:00 a.m. (Mountain Time) I will be sipping coffee and trying my best to sound like I am coherent while I talk about why I wrote "Haircuts For Little Men," and why YOU need a copy of it!

   Here is the info!

Cindy will be giving away some free e-books from me as door prizes, AND on top of that, my book is now at a special discount for the conference.

Just WAIT until you hear how much money you can save by doing haircuts at home.  It is phenomenal!

Blessings,

(Please pray for me, for a successful interview!)

Nancy

when i was in 4th grade i wanted to thin my hair out and cut the top of my hair off. I was really upset with God, because he didn't perform a miracle on my hair. My mom had to crisscross it and use wide headbands to disguise it for several months. It was like a crewcut with long hair surrounding it!

My husband has told me I can't cut my son's hair until I can make him look like a little man instead of a bald cube! Please help me. Thanks for the great talk and encouragement to try again!

Thank you for your time this morning. I've been cutting my 6 y.o. son's for years and am about to give my 12 month old his first. I trim my husband's but working up to cutting his full time. He is military so it could actually affect his job. Nothing like a little pressure to make your hands unsteady (and yes I have to trim it with a razor to get it close enough). Thank you and God bless.

Hi,
I tried to cut my sons' hair between visits to my sister at the hair salon. She looked at me at said, Sarah, if you can't afford it I'll cut them for free, but DON'T do this again!
I promised to leave the haircutting to the professional in the future! :)
If I win, my email is sarah@nettlesfamily.net
Thank you Nancy!

Hello! I tried to trim my son's hair once with the same clippers I use on my husband, but his hair is so much thicker than daddy's that I got half way done, was really overwhelmed and took him back to Supercuts! It was SO embarassing to say I tried to cut his hair and got confused, they looked at me like I was crazy! They finished up the job and I really hope to get your book so I can figure it out how to do this right! Thanks!

Luckily my children are still very young! My husband insisted that we let our daughter's bangs grow long again! And, our son only lets me cut his hair for a few minutes at a time so I have to be very careful not to do too much at once so it still looks presentable. So, I will be getting both books as soon as possible! Thanks again for sharing today.

Hi Nancy, you did great this morning!

I was cutting my son's hair one time, and he couldn't keep still... One side was really, really short, and a couple of bald spots and the other side was really long at some points, and it looked like I gave him a rats tail in back! He never did like that! I have now learned a few tricks that helps, and laying him down when I cut the back is one of the best tricks that I have tried!
Thanks again! Shannon Morris

I have a loner now, so hopefully, I won't miss any of the expo.

How did the chat go?

Nancy... good luck with your interview and the sale of your book. I am in the process of launching a website to promote ebooks... both my own and those written by other authors. I'm having a blast. :)

I missed it 'live', but am looking forward to listening later. I already cut my sons and husband's hair, although I can't say I really style it.

Saw your post a moment ago in the UHSE session (Teaching Art) about posting for a chance to win, so I thought I'd check out your blog.

I really enjoyed your talk and think this book is a great idea! I have 9 kids and do all of their haircuts myself to save money. The boys end up with just a buzz cut...it would be nice to be able to give them a real haircut! :)

About Me

Hi There!

Welcome to my blog.
How nice of you to drop in. What is this all about you say? Well, take a look and see.

Just like the plants springing forth we are following the Son, soaking up the living water and pulling the weeds. We can't wait to see what will bloom THIS growing season!

Oh, and just for fun, I will tell you a little about me, since that is what this space is for. :)

I am a mother of four lovely kids who are perfectly human in every way. They are sinful, selfish, loving, happy, grumpy, excited, capable, frustratable, (I know, that isn't a word but sometimes I make up my own) and sometimes contrite, and just like their parents. But they are ours and we think they are all keepers!

We have homeschooled them all since birth with the trial and error method. I think they all have "made the grade" and they are now 17, 14, 12 and 10 years old.

We're not experts, except in the area of making mistakes and living to tell about them and hopefully learn from them! We hope you will find some encouragement here as you read about the seasons of our life as a homeschooling family.
